Moon Thai Kitchen — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

We were told the food we ordered was vegan when it wasn’t. Several friends suggested to try this place out so my girlfriend and I came and had dinner. Before ordering we asked which items on the menu could be made vegan, and the waiter responded that everything could be made vegan. We clarified this again I remember because we were excited to have so many options, and he repeated that anything on the menu could be vegan. We ordered, ate and paid, the food was quite good. But when I brought a friend there recently, I was informed by a different waiter that only one of the currys on the menu could be vegan. I was astonished that they had made this mistake. I personally don’t care too much although I have made it a point for several years not to purchase animal products, however I know that my girlfriend would be pretty upset by learning that she had eaten non vegan food. Many vegans around Göteborg have told me about this place, and I know vegans make up a good percentage of their clientele. I talked calmly to the manager because I thought it important that she should know, she apologized and explained that the waiter has worked there for many years and should have known. She discounted our meal 50 kr. I am rating this so harshly because presumably we are not the first customers that have been lied to by this waiter if he has been working there for years. And more than that, as a manager I felt it was bad business not to refund the meal entirely. I would not have paid 300 kr for that meal had I known it wasn’t vegan, but we were lied to by one of the restaurants employees. People go through a lot of work to seek out vegan options, they deprive themselves of meat and dairy, etc for years because it’s something they have chosen and believe in. With so many vegan customers, I am amazed that the manager didn’t take the situation more seriously. If someone had an allergy, this could have even been dangerous.

Overall, great restaurant, great food, but having an employee lie about the menu, and the manager refund only 50 kr of the 300 kr meal, shows that they didn’t take the situation seriously, and is...

Visited this place for dinner around 19.00, all thanks to Google as apparently it was being popped up as the highest rated Thai restaurant at Gothenburg. But, our experience didn't echo to the ratings. First of all, don't dare to go there if you don't have a booking. It took around 20-25 mins to find a seat outside.

But this was just the beginning of the waiting time. Our order was taken in 5 mins, but, my God, the food came after 1 hr 20 mins. And, we were not alone in that situation. Many families, even with little kids, were basically starving and finishing their full drinks just to wait for the food.

We ordered three items. The prices are very expensive, and the confusing thing was the "moon sign", full moon means most authentic whereas the lesser ones would mean more adapted to the taste. Considering the price and their moon ratings, we asked the waitress, " can you tell us more about this dish "Laab Gai"? As we are ordering two other dishes, do you think it would be too much food or do you have any better suggestions to combine different meals and get a better experience?" Guess, what she replied, "It's a Thai dish, a main course". 😒😒 A bit more info from her would be great considering a) it was indeed a salad (idk why they could not serve it earlier than the hot foods), b) we could not finish that thing because all of a sudden it was everything with different taste, c) it was damn soury.

Last but not least, as we were waiting for our food, there were too many bees outside and it was getting a bit cold. So, we asked the waitress, "do you think there are empty seats inside?" (also, not to forget all GOOGLE photos would show you those colorful interior designs). Very straightforward she was, "No, this is only for the guests who pre-booked earlier". 😏🙄

So, to sum it up, it was not a good service experience at all. Perhaps, if you plan to visit the place, pre-book a table, go through the menu well in advance, and google the names to get some idea about the...

I come here to wait for my wife who was at a beauty salon to have som time for herself because is coming her birthday, the man who is in charge and take the people for the dir I think he is 🇹🇷 Turk very rude man exaggerated Turk man ! I have been in many places in this town and as you know guys all the time I let you know where is good to go and where isn’t good …. I was thinking to drink something and stay little bit time 30-40 min max till the time she finished at the salon and then to ask for a table and eat someting together with her , but this come and ask me for 10 in 10 min when she come and I stay at the bar by the way I didn’t take any table to sit on…. I never ever in my life see something like him never! My option is that never visit this place ! When you let youre person thoughts and tell the truth because of that man …. I will never want to come here again! I will try to contact the owner of this place and I will ask him if he thinks that this man who him hired here he beihaivor is ok ?! I been in Thailand people are extremely extremely welcoming but In here this man isn’t 0.1% welcoming anyone with pleasure just rush people and make them fell uncomfortable. I’m extremely sorry but I will take this far because this isn’t ok ! Is full of dust all the cables are around the drinks I never see a place full of extra dust with so many fake flowers around! I will make a complaint where I should to make it because this isn’t ok he is on a building where people are stay up and if something bad happens for some cables everyone can get on fire and is ok ! PLS PLEASE...
