Expected a lot from the reviews. The place and ambience were actually really nice but not kids-friendly at all. We got disappointed by two things. #1 The staff told off my son for making noise. My son had been making noise with his car toy and we had been trying to tell him to stop with no urgency. Suddenly the staff came and directly told my son to stop by saying 'no', waving her index finger with a serious face. She did say 'no' a few times and my son was a bit caught off guard by that and got scared. After this moment, the staff avoided eye contact and did not talk to us at all. Even when she had to take our plates while I was still standing next to the table, she did not say anything and she was not even asking how the food was. I got confused. Why did she seem to be the one annoyed by us? Before we left, I decided to confront her by saying that I would've appreciated if she came to us first to calm my son down, instead of directly telling him to be quiet. She then defended by telling me that 'this (the restaurant) is not my house' a couple of times. The thing is we knew my son was making noise but it was difficult to know how much that sound bothered others at the restaurant. There were only three tables filled in the whole restaurant at this point. So we would find it helpful to be told that it's actually pretty loud and they wanted him to stop. But, in any circumstances, we think telling our son off directly is unacceptable. FYI, my son is only nearly two years. #2 My husband liked the grilled peppers tartine but we think the soup was too salty. The blue cheese/pear tartine I had was a bit too sweet and overseasoned. Chicharones were good. No matter how good the food was though, what the staff did just made us feel unwelcomed and...
Read moreThe moment I stepped inside Fig, I was captivated by the stunning blend of modern furniture, unique artwork, and charming antiques. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between contemporary elegance and a touch of nostalgic warmth, making it an inviting space to enjoy a meal.
Now, let's get to the highlight of my visit: the shrimp sandwich. I can honestly say it was one of the best shrimp sandwiches I’ve ever had! The shrimp were incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned and nestled between soft, crusty bread. Each bite was a delight, rich in flavor yet beautifully uncomplicated. The balance of textures and tastes was sublime, showcasing the quality of ingredients and the expertise of the kitchen. This sandwich is a must-try.
The service at Fig was equally commendable. The staff demonstrated knowledge of the menu and took the time to offer thoughtful recommendations that enhanced my meal. They were clearly passionate about the food and eager to share their insights, adding a personal touch to the experience.
With its exquisite food and sophisticated, artful atmosphere, Fig has quickly established itself as one of my favorite spots in Lund. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their delightful offerings. Highly...
Read moreThe open sandwich with innovative, carefully made, topping creates a very satisfying experience. I ordered the grilled calf tongue sandwich, and the grilled lamb sandwich. Both breads were roasted such that their surfaces are slightly crispy and would not become soaky due to the sauce. The calf tongue was grilled with clear burn marks, and extremely tender and juicy inside. The lamb was pre-seasoned such that it would not be plain. The lamb fat was burnt from outside and the meat was medium inside, properly cooked. Both meat topping were garnished with pickled salads below, with light dressing. Very...
