Very opulent interior design and pleasant staff. BUT… as delicious as everything tasted it was small portions in comparison to the price. They only had two choices of white wine (and one of them was the house wine) but plenty more red wine options and cocktails (for a higher price). The menu only has two options, the small mixed mezes or the large mixed selection. And the only difference is that the large comes with a small piece of lamb, a small piece of chicken and a small piece of beef. And when I say small, I mean two bites.
When it came to desserts it was once again a limited selection. Either a baklava or a chocolate dessert. The baklava was, to say the least, surprising. It was a deconstructed triangular shaped baklava with two pieces of ice cream in between the pistachio nuts and the top layers of philo dough. The pistachios were barely chopped, most of them were whole and simply spread over the bottom layer. The top 7 layer of philo dough were bone dry, there was no syrup or honey or anything. The dessert was served with a small coffee spoon and it was simply impossible to break off smaller pieces of the philo dough with it so we ended up only eating the ice cream. All in all, good flavours, small portion sizes and not thought through...
Read moreMy husband and I went to this place because our friend recommended it but we found out later, when they were there, the menu was different and they could CHOOSE items to be ordered. Well, not anymore. On our visit, we could only choose from two options, a selection of meze or a selection of meze with a main!!! Maybe we were expecting a restaurant but it had more of a lounge feel. It would be good if we could order which mezes or mains we would like but judging from the looks of the menu, I think they are focused more on selling cocktails and creating a unique ambiance. It's a good place to go with friends to share food but if you want a nice quiet dinner, it may be a bit difficult and like i mentioned, choices were limited as to what one can actually order in terms of food. The meze selection was alright but some of the things on there, we didn't even though, so it's a waste. All the dips were good , the rest nothing to shout about. I wouldn't mind having the option to pay more to choose exactly what we want to eat. If you are looking for a night club feel with fancy looking cocktails, this may be it. I can't say i would come here for the food, was a bit disappointed by that. Maybe...
Read moreWhile this place offers a unique experience and good food for meat eaters, my friends and I weren't of that luck two weeks ago. The vegetarian/vegan alternative for the main dish was ridiculous, we just got some roasted vegetables (we got roasted broccoli, brussel sprouts, peppers and mini corns - the meat eaters got different types of meat, of course). And while it all would have been fine if they had informed us about it, instead even after asking the waitress twice before ordering, she reassured us that we would get "even more". This wasn't the culmination of the evening though.
After taking away my friend's cocktail, which had at least a third left in it, not only did they not admit the mistake but also initially refused to get her a new drink because (and these are their words) - "she didn't like it anyway". And this was because she had mentioned to the waiter that there was a spice in the cocktail she doesn't like but wasn't clearly listed in the menu. At the end they still brought her another cocktail but the whole experience was bad. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone which is quite a disappointment to be honest. We were expecting a...
