✨Finally a restaurant with good food! I’ve gone to many restaurants at this point and a lot of them are fancy and good looking but their food is mediocre at best. But here at “APO” (short for Asian post office) they deliver the tastes. It’s an tapas style restaurant, it’s more like a cocktail place as well.
🥓You pick your tapas dishes that are smaller or bigger in size. They recommend you to share. 2-4 dishes per person depending on the size. I picked 2 largrer dishes and almost got full. Hence why I recommend 3.
🍤Pssst the popcorn shrimp and the pork belly was so savory, tart and GOOD!! 🤩
💭Young, hip, popular, music are words that come to mind.
🎶Nice atmosphere but can get pretty crowded especially Friday and Saturday, obviously. It’s like an upbeat place, fine dining sort of but relaxed. Unless you want quiet and calm music then this is not the place for you.
🌆Location is good and very central although difficult to find first since I walked around a bit back and forth. I had to take the stairs up but the maps didn’t show that. It’s located on the bridge above if you find yourself and ground level.
🌃Also the restaurant doesn’t have a big sign or anything and it looks almost closed on the outside. You have a little view over the city but it’s not really very high up but definitely something to look at if you have a window seat.
Good cocktails too though on the pricier side.
Only thing I wish they improved was that I was very adamant that I can’t eat diary aka milk, butter, cheese, cream etc. I do think the wonderful popcorn shrimp tastes of butter and I think I was right as I was up all night from passing gas, haha!
And hey, I NEED the recipe for the pork belly, I don’t know what they mixed in to the juices but it was sour fruity tart and very good. I was licking the plate...
Read morePlace has a nice atmosphere and the drinks were great. Food was fine but I wouldn’t say anything special. My rating is affected my the terrible service I experienced - firstly had a reservation for 10 that I had called to increase to 12 which was confirmed over the phone only to be told ON the day that actually it wasn’t confirmed since I didn’t receive an email so they’ll try but can’t be sure. Fine. They managed which I appreciate very much and we had an extra person from my party actually show up which was my fault but they accommodated for that too. Amazing! Now my issue stands at the fact that I felt that due to the extra person they tried to backhandedly bring more food to the table than was agreed upon when ordering and when I flagged this, since there was simply TOO much food as we were there not primarily for dinner, I was told by reception I can cancel the rest of the upcoming dishes then only for the waitress to tell me there were none left anyway (I ordered off a list so either they never wrote them down or I was being lied to). Even if this was all fine, the waitress was also just overall rude to my party and it wasn’t a pleasant experience but just felt stressful. If there was an issue with the number of people that is fine and happy to talk about it but some professionalism and directly communicate...
Read moreVery beautiful and hip looking dining place with a large seating area and a DJ booth in the middle. Visited during weekday for a late lunch / early dinner. Naturally the place is fairly quiet.
I visited as this place continues to be the top rated place to eat in Stockholm. Ordered 3 dishes (pork belly bun, roti rosemary honey and crispy pork belly with fried egg).
While I agree the restaurant ambiance is very good and menu sounds unique, unfortunately the taste simply doesn’t live up to expectation. As an Asian person, I am not opposed to fusion cuisine or invention of a new flavour. However it still has to taste good.
The pork in the pork bun was not cooked very well in my opinion to extract the flavour of the fat in pork belly. The bun is very soft and good.
Roti rosemary was ok - a bit too sweet for my preference and too rich in butter. Crispy pork belly with egg was also ok - I think the pork is better than the pork bun this time but it was underwhelming.
Best part of the visit had to be the thai basil drink (I ordered the virgin version). This flavour is in my opinion a unique, newly invented and is the definition of fusion.
Otherwise I think for the price point and hype, this restaurant does not live up to my expectation. I hope to try them again should their...
