Ciao Ciao Grande — Restaurant in Stockholm

Ciao Ciao Grande has quickly become our new favorite restaurant. We’ve been here three times already and never had a bad experience. My absolute favorite dish is the carbonara, while my boyfriend loves to try something new each time — this time he went for the pasta con salsiccia, which was excellent. Since the weather was so nice, we chose to sit outside. It was a great atmosphere, though I did feel it took them a bit longer to take our order — we waited about 30 minutes. I imagine they were quite busy inside, as it’s a large restaurant, but it’s something to keep in mind if you sit outdoors. That said, once we ordered, the food came out in about 10 minutes and was absolutely delicious, as always. Price-wise, I’d say it’s very fair for the quality and portion sizes. All menu dishes are written on a blackboard as you enter the restaurant; it is all in Swedish but staff were helpful and happy to explain and answer any questions I had.

You pay immediately after you put in your order; while your lunch is brought to your table, you get your own water (sparkling!) on your own and take as much bread as you feel like on a table set up. Coffee and biscotti is also available too.

I enjoyed my Mafioso pizza, and I know my mum and brother enjoyed their pasta and chicken salad dishes respectively. Dad felt his lasagne was alright, but perhaps with too much tomato. A rule of thumb is that lasagne will never be prepared fresh when you order at a restaurant, mainly because of the amount of time lasagne actually takes to cook. We ordered two pizzas. It took longer than expected for the order to arrive and when it was brought our table one pizza was missing. The waiter apologised and informed us that the second one was on its way as they had confused the order with someone else's. After some time a waiter came to the table and asked if we had received the second pizza, we had not. Again we were told it was coming, but it never did. When my daughter had finished hers the second one had still not arrived. We then decided to leave as in my opinion a meal is meant to be enjoyed together.
