Erlands — Restaurant in Stockholm

Erlands is really a gem in the cocktail scene of Stockholm. While really (charmingly) small, I have never had any trouble finding a seat and always get welcomed with a warm and genuine smile. Very friendly hosts and a variety of drinks prepared with attention to detail and a consistent sense of quality throughout.

Their Corpse Reviver #2 is top-notch and I should probably dare to ask for their recipe, because it just tastes so much better there than anywhere, else including my home. So happy to have this as my place to go whenever I want to catch up...

Both my friend and I are avid cocktail drinkers so we had high hopes and have been wanting to try out Erlands for a long time. We ordered A Grape Escape and Erlands Cocktail, but the drinks were disappointing for the price they charged. Taste wise it wasn't something unique or extraordinary. The descriptions sounded nice, for example mine says it contains fresh grape and lime but all I can taste was just the sourness from lime, it wasn't well balanced at all, more like a punch in your face. One of the rarest gems on the cocktail scene in Stockholm. Erland's is decorated as your great grandfather's home, and the cocktails on offer seem to try to mimick that era as well - and they do an excellent job in that aspect.

Come here early, stay late and get into lengthy discussions with the well-versed bar team about the best Old Fashioned, the true proportions of a Sazerac, or plainly agree on the fact that Fernet Branca is nectar...
