L'Avventura — Restaurant in Stockholm

This was my second time at this restaurant. First time I went there 4 years ago and the impression was great. This time we took our guests there for a saturday night dinner. I must say food was really average. Have you guys changed your chefs?. something must have changed as NONE of the 5 people on our table looked at their food and said, yes, looks and tastes great. We had spicy wodka pasta (over-salted), shrimp pasta (very few shrimps), entrecote (was good), and octopus (very small peace with some white beans around?.). The only thing that was great was a Pinaple Flambe - a spectacle and great tasting desert. Our 155kr coctails were served in simple water glasses :D +paper straws. no effort in presentation at all. We asked for a bottle of sweet white wine and were recommended italian riesling, which was the least sweet riesling i have ever had. I will say this.. if not the beautiful interior - it would be at the bottom. The standard of restaurants in Stockholm is high now and beautiful interior isnt gonna cut it:) I can recomend this place if you want to sit in a gorgeus space, sip on a drink, eat a desert. Had probably one of my best food experiences at this place. It was hard to get a table but managed to get a table late at evening. Even though that we got the table late at evening you could come earlier and mingle in the so charming bar with the even more charming bartenders. And the view from the bar down at the restaurant is astonishing.

Later we moved down from the lovely bar to the restaurant where our waiter explained extremely carefully how the menu works - you start with the antipasti which you share with your company. It tasted extremely good, could not get enough of the prosciutto. Later we got our main course. The main course comes at a small trolley, where they will, if needed, cut your roasted chicken which is enjoyable and it is an art to look at with the grace and carving technique they obtain. Everything was perfect cooked, got that perfect crust. For desert I ordered an chocolate cake and like the rest it was delicious too.

Very good selection of wines, amazing decor, but horror service and food.

My girlfriend and I went out for dinner a couple of weeks ago and we ordered a premium bottle of wine, some appetizers and a steak for 2 persons with sides. We asked the steak to be cooked medium, but when the waiter brought us the food, the steak was 100% well done. We told the waiter that this is not the way we wanted the steak and she took the plate to the kitchen to tell the chef. After 1 minute she came back with the same steak and she told us that “the chef has a different opinion, the steak is medium, but we cannot see that because of the dimmed light”. With these exact words. Unfortunately for us, we had to accept that 100€+ chewing gum. And they offered us free deserts.

We will never go again to that restaurant and I hope you will think twice before going here. Restaurant AG is the best for steaks in Stockholm. It may not be that fancy, but at least the steaks are super premium, cooked like you ask and very nice staff. This resturant is nice just for an instagram post and...
