I have frequently eaten lunch Max at Kungsträdgårdgatan due to the proximity of this place to my workplace.
Unfortunately, I have noticed that the quality of the meat patties and onion rings have fallen lately.
I do not know if Max has decided silently to lower the meat content of their patties so that it now contain more additives and less actual meat or if there is some other change in the ingredients or processing. It is for certain not 100 % meat. I actually wonder if their burger meat patties even come up to those normal fake burger patties with barely 80 % meat that are sold to people who cannot afford 100 % real food.
Regarding their onion rings. My impression is that it is pretty widely known that Max is using potentially toxic frying oils with a fair amount of polyunsaturated fats which are well known to react into toxic and carcinogenic Aldehydes upon contact with air, light, and heat, even though the oils have other chemical additives to slow this process down in industrial usage like this. Therefor it is very unfortunate that their onion rings frequently look very burned, overheated, potentially indicating that their frying oil either has too high of a temperature, their onion rings are fried too long, they are using the oil even though it has gone rancid (meaning it should be changed more often), or a combination thereof. The onion rings are delicious when not overcooked, but unfortunately lately it has been approx 75 % overcooked, 15 % somewhere between overcooked and good, and 10 % perfect.
The place can occasionally be somewhat crowded as it is placed in a very popular area and lots of people tend to visit the place around noon and 14-18 CET when leaving work or before leaving town during...

Read moreNormally I love this food chain, but on this location the experience was dissapointing.
No toilet nor place to wash your hands before eating was offered, which is a requirement in Swedish law. Max normally follow HACCP, but the hygiene was apparently no priority here.
Second, no cash payment was offered due to renovations. However, the "express" payment machine also failed and a staff member just apologized when asked why no note with "defective" was used, instead of actually fixing the problem.
Third, I had to figure out when my food was ready in contrast to the rest of people in libe where they called out a number to notify.
Fourth, the Frisco burger had dry meat compared to what quality Max usually offer. It beat cheap competitors food wise due to the free onion rings but I doubt that my friend that was here for the first time will ever return...
