Serious Concern Regarding Poor Service at Lebanon Meza Lounge
I visited your restaurant on Saturday (September 13th) at around 12:45pm with my husband and my friend from Italy who was visiting for the weekend. While we were all truly impressed by the quality of the food, the service we received left us feeling deeply unwelcome and uncomfortable.
We were waiting for the falafel that was part of the 'Vego Meny' we ordered and despite several tables around us who ordered after we did and received their dishes promptly, we waited an unusually long time. When we asked one of your waiting staff (a woman wearing glasses) about the delay, she curtly responded that it was due to the portion size. However, when the dish eventually arrived, it was no different in size from what we observed being served to others.
Unfortunately, this was not the only issue. Every time we politely asked for extra pita bread, hummus, or anything additional, we were either ignored or met with visible irritation. Eventually, my friend had to walk up to one of the staff to ask for something extra and even that was met with more resentment than basic courtesy.
What felt especially disheartening was the clear difference in how we were treated compared to other tables. The same staff member again, the woman with glasses, was friendly, attentive, and patient with others, but responded to us with abruptness and indifference throughout the meal. The difference in treatment was impossible to ignore.
I say this as someone who has worked in the Food and Beverage industry myself, I fully understand that it's a high-stress environment especially during busy hours. However, the noticeable difference in how we were treated compared to other guests is simply unacceptable.
The consistently rude and dismissive behavior from your staff completely ruined what should have been a pleasant experience. I recently moved to Sweden and am still in the process of learning Swedish, but I truly did not expect to face this kind of treatment.
We chose your restaurant because of our love for Lebanese food and I hope you take this feedback seriously. Hospitality matters just as much as the food and all customers, regardless of background deserve to be treated with respect and kindness.
I would appreciate a...
Read moreDinner on our last night in Stockholm .. Family of 5..I'm half Lebanese and wanted to try the food at least once.. We ordered appetizers and wine to start: 2 of each--hummus, baba ganoush, and tabouli salad.. And a red wine from the Bakka Valley. Hummus was creamy and excellent topped as usual with olive oil and a back olive. Baba ganoush was smokey an lemony as it should be topped with oil and pomegranate seed with plenty of fresh and thin flat bread. The base of the tabouleh was mostly parsely as required . With tomatoes, cukes, onions and again lots of lemon. Excellent. We were offered and turned down a 15 item platter of appetizers.. And rather chose to focus on our favorites as described above.. On to our main courses. .I had lamb cutlets . With potatoes and a few veggies Meat was tasty but a bit dry.. Judy (wife) had a fattoush salad.. Which was good and plenty of food withe the appetizers. Son had another lamb dish.. Ground/seasoned on a skewed. He loved it. Daughter-in-law had grilled chicken and thought it was great. Grand daughter had a pasta dish also with chicken.. .she cleaned her plate. (11 yo) . Some deep fried kibbee came late due to a mistake on the origininal order. .it was good for restaurant food as I joked with our exceptional older Syrian waiter who we guessed might be the manager but never asked. He and I both prefer oven baked kibbee but it's not practical for the restaurant. Finally we had baklava fir dessert - the real deal with ground pistachios and rosewater.. And great whipped cream... close to butter. Son had a cream and chocolate pudding That was gone quickly.
All in all great food..another time I'd try something other than the lamb... Happy with our decision to eat there.. Go and enjoy especially if you grew up eating...
Read more5-star food with 1-star service. The deep fried minced beef dumplings (Samboesek Bellahme) is a must try here. The crispy outer layer with the meaty texture inside created a perfect combo of crunchiness. Unlike most of the Lebanese pirogues I tried that came with too thick outer layer, the dough for this one was extremely thin, thus you will not feel like chewing on only hard fried dense dough. The odor of the meat was removed totally, and only the umami remained. The falafels were nice too, not too dry and flavorful. The beef hummus was unlike a bunch of other Lebanese places in Stockholm, it was creamy but not too greasy. The shrimps and lamb sausages were pleasant too, and if all these are too heavy for you, you can always take some light Warak Inab that neutralize the whole meal. However, the service was TERRIBLE. Multiple MALE waiters looked like they had a bad day and wanted all the guests to leave. We waited 40min to get a coke, and we had to request for the coke twice in the meantime. When they served our food and bill, they were behaving very impatient and gave...
