This was a recommendation from a local person. This is their local place for a good meal.
Overall I was not super impressed. When we walked in at 9pm, the only time we could book, the place was almost empty. Not sure why we could not get an earlier booking.
We took a table in the outside area. Very nice and comfortable. The host sat us, and the table staff ignored us. Eventually menus and water arrived. We decided no drinks as we have been drinking bottles of wine before.
We ordered oysters as a starter, and were going to have bubbles, but none by the glass. The oysters were plump and full of flavor. An excellent preparation with really good vinegar sauce.
Our main were steak tar tar and fish soup. Both were well made and good flavor. The steak was different in preperation, a little too lean and too many premixed ingredient. Very good flavor with nice crunch. The fish soup very well made with salmon and white fish. Excellent broth.
I ended up getting Frits, not requested. They were very salty. It was their seasoning mix. Not good on their own. Asked for ketchup and Mayo to dampen the salt. The mayo was fresh made and charged extra, a little bit of a surprise.
Overall table service did improve. Water was refreshed. I ordered a beer which met my needs.
We settled on no desert, the banana split did look interesting.
The evening ended as it started, took many extra minutes to get the bill at 2235, which surprised me, as they were cleaning and preparing for closure.
I would go again and try an...
Read moreI'll start with the pros because the list is short. The bathrooms were some of the nicest I've seen in Stockholm. The atmosphere was pleasant and the food presentation was great (my club sandwich came on a giant sword).
I'll admit we probably should have done more research on this place before we walked in with all of our luggage straight from the airport (it was more upscale than we expected). The host was very rude, proceeded to let us know about the long wait for the dining room (one hour at 10:30am yet the dining area was empty), and snapped at us when I asked if we could sit in the less formal bar area. Once we were seated we waited 20 minutes before someone greeted us and gave us menus/water. Several groups that came in and sat in the bar after us were greeted immediately. I ordered the club sandwich and I will be completely honest; I've had a better club sandwich at Denny's for $8 (I paid $20 for this one). To top it off there was a giant piece of rock/gravel in the sandwich (shown in picture). Thirty minutes into eating I had to ask for a water refill because no one had come by.
Overall our experience here was not great. We were very excited based on the positive reviews. Maybe we came...
Read moreUpdated review in June 2024: Visited for the second time. Ordered their rigatoni and risotto plus calamares. The calamares was tender and not spongy. Well season and cooked. Rigatoni was a little too creamy and rich to finish everything, the scallops on top of the risotto was very fresh and tender.
I recently enjoyed the lunch special featuring lamb skewers at this restaurant and found it to be a great value at SEK 165. The portion size was generous, and the freshly baked bread was a delightful addition. While the effort put into food quality was evident, I did notice that the lamb skewers were slightly undercooked on the inside, which caught me off guard due to my sensitive stomach. It would have been helpful if the staff had mentioned this beforehand. Unfortunately, this led to some discomfort afterward. Despite this, I had a pleasant experience overall and plan to return to try other items on the menu, with hopes of avoiding a similar issue...
