Our visit to Pelago on the night of June 14th, around 12 AM, was an extremely disappointing and, frankly, outrageous experience. My brother, a friend, and I, international visitors filled with excitement to enjoy the place, had our night take a very dark turn. While walking on the terrace, a security staff member (who appeared to be a police officer) stopped my brother.
The reason he gave for demanding my brother leave was completely unacceptable and blatantly racist. He claimed my brother "looked drunk" and had "very small eyes." I immediately assured him that my brother hadn't consumed any alcohol that night and that his eyes are naturally small. Despite my explanation, the guard insisted my brother had to leave, even though my friend and I were told we could stay.
It's obvious these were just excuses to discriminate against my brother. The insinuation that his small eyes indicated intoxication is an offensive stereotype and a clear sign of prejudice. Unsurprisingly, our entire group decided to leave. There's no reason to tolerate such discriminatory treatment.
The security staff's attitude was unprofessional, unjust, and showed a disturbing lack of respect. A place like Pelago should be a welcoming space for everyone, not somewhere people are judged and expelled based on racial prejudice. This experience completely ruined our night and left us feeling deeply indignant.
Any international visitor should consider this before thinking about visiting Pelago. I would not recommend this place to anyone until they seriously address this type of discriminatory behavior from...
Read moreVisited this place whilst on holiday. Met up with an old friend from Stockholm whilst I was in town. We had one singular beer before going here and upon entry the bouncer passive aggressively stopped me from entering accusing me of being too intoxicated. He was openly trying to provoke me. It’s important to note I had only one beer before entering. One. singular. beer. If the dullard was polite about it, I wouldn’t have minded at all; He’s simply doing his job. But he acted like a complete thug. There were stages where I genuinely didn’t know what he was going to do and thought it was a joke. I was utterly bewildered and had to reiterate my level of sobriety because I didn’t want to let my friend down. He reluctantly let me in. Unfortunately it ruined my experience of the place. The second blow was the price. Good Lord! Never paid anything like it before or since. Because of the price, the atmosphere was dire. Really bizarre place. However, the view is truly stunning. We left and went to a cheap bar and had so much more fun.
Note: During our stay in Stockholm, we were informed the bouncers at this place are bullies to everyone. The profession is regulated in the UK so this took me by surprise. Maybe if you go in as a couple you’d have a different experience. Personally, the place was absolutely not worth a visit.
Recommend: Go somewhere else with a better atmosphere, friendlier vibe and nicer people. The view is lovely but until the management replace the uneducated juice heads on the door, steer clear for...
Read moreThe only acceptable part of this place is the beautiful view of Stockholm. Not more than that:
0 offerings: Very little to choose from in terms of drinks and especially non-alcoholic choices. Sub-par service: The staff need to learn to smile when giving service. You work in a service profession - maybe consider changing jobs if you don’t like it. DIY & wiggeling tables: minimum requirement is to have a table that does not wiggle, especially in a place that serves DRINKS. I had to tighten the screws myself because the tabletop was loose. You don’t need to do that even in Mcdonalds. Overpriced. You pay for the view but nothing more than that. Dirty filthy tables: when clearing tables - consider bringing a cloth to wipe the tables. Disgusting really.
Shape up, people are well-traveled and see differences and we have...
