We recently discovered Mosebacketerrassen, and the place was simply fantastic. It has a laid-back, open-air charm that really impressed us. While some views of the water are slightly obstructed, it's still a true waterfront space with a large capacityâeasily seating 150 to 200 people.
The setting is casual, with relaxed bench-style seating and smaller tables and chairs scattered around. The ground is gravel and dirt, so expect it to get a bit dusty, especially on dry daysâbut thatâs part of the atmosphere. On sunny summer afternoons, the vibe is great. We recommend arriving around 3 PM to get a spot; later than that, it tends to get very crowded.
However, prices are on the high side. A basic plate of fries cost around 125 SEK, which felt steep, and the beer was about 75 SEK for what was essentially a standard lager. The menu is quite limitedâthere arenât many food options, and even the limited items come with a high price tag. So, itâs not a place for a full meal unless you're willing to pay quite a bit.
There are washrooms available, but, as expected, be ready to stand in queuesâfor food, drinks, restrooms, and just getting around. It gets busy, especially in good weather.
Getting There: If you're taking the Tunnelbana, get off at Slussen. Once you exit the station, you can either take a staircase up (about 5 minutes of uphill walking) or opt for the newly built elevator (Hissen) that takes you up more comfortably. From there, itâs a short, beautiful walkâaround 300 metersâacross several small bridges with lovely views of the city. The journey itself adds to the...
Read moreTwo weeks ago, I had a terrifying experience here. On my pizza, a main ingredient (stracciatella creme) was missing , which I unfortunately only found out when I had already eaten up and my friend got his pizza with stracciatella creme. I went in to the counter to tell the chefs about the missing creme. The response was the following: The apparent boss of the chefs asked his colleague who prepared the pizza whether he had forgotten creme on one of the pizzas. The colleague said no. At that point, they had decided that my complaint was invalid, which felt embarrassing and unfair. After they had turned the complaint into an invalid complaint, the boss went on to ask in an unfriendly way: "What do you want actually? Do you want a little bit of creme?". Although I was unsure what I want (having eaten up my pizza without creme), this felt like an unserious offer. So, I told him that I found this very unfriendly all. From that point, he completely snapped, starred at me with angry eyes (like a boxer) and finally threatened me to call the guards. I went out and sat another hour with my friends. We then decided to go in once again to maybe talk in a different way. This went wrong of course. We were told that be "behave like assholes" and that we are "stupid". We did not do any name calling whatsoever and tried to resolve the issue. No chance. So be prepared to be threatened and name called if you have a complaint...
Read moreA very disappointing experience only saved by its location. The restaurant is nothing special and I can't imagine people actually go there for the food experience. We being 6 adults ordered 5 different dishes and all of them were very salty, even the dressing. The staff acted very stressful and forgot basic things and im not surprised because there were 2 staff members handling all the guests, but the rest of the staff was on the inside and it was very noticeable they could've used atleast one more staff member helping with the guests. The music volume was very inconsistent and went up and down, almost as if they had 2 DJs with different preferences in music volume. So while the restaurant was a somewhat poor experience the location is hard to beat up on a hill with a terrific view over one half of Stockholm. And if you ever go here just skip the restaurant and sit down at the beer tables instead. There's no food, but there's beer. Beer with an even better view than from the restaurant even though they are right next...
