Restaurant Akkurat - Södermalm — Restaurant in Stockholm

Our last meal while staying in Stockholm, late night and hungry for a steak or anything that remotely resembled one, we found Akkurat. Another great gem when it comes to restaurants/pubs that are open late during the night at Stockholm.

To start off, staff was so incredibly friendly and welcoming, gave us suggestions for drinks since my SO was craving a cyder but wasn't sure what to get, and since I wanted a steak but they had a couple dishes with steaks that I wasn't familiarized with.

Our dishes, although I can't for the life of me remember their names but I attached pictures of them, were ready so quickly that we hadn't finish our first round of drinks. The steak was medium rare and was cooked just right, so we're the potatoes on the side.

My favorite part of this place however was the atmosphere, an open bar area where you could see all the beers and liquors they had to offer, an elevated area with chairs and tables to dine in, a separate area dedicated for large parties. Akkurat is a great place for beer lovers. It holds a beer collection which is possibly the biggest in Stockholm. Let us talk in detail -

Food & beers - I haven’t tried many food options pomme frites and burgers and they were good. I go there for beers. I am an IPA and Belgian sour beer lover. Beers over there tastes devine. Super amazing! The latest ones I have tried are Ponnies IPA and double IPA. Amazing fruity and hoppy flavour. Once you start you just can’t stop drinking.

Ambience and service - Ambience is great with nice lighting and decor. 50+ beer taps will give you a feeling of being able to chose any beer in the world you want😊! At the same time it makes it hard to chose as well if you are visiting for the first time. Sitting arrangements and service is good. During the weekends it really gets crowded and people sits on the bar chairs and surrounds the bar. Then it gets really difficult to reach the bar, order and pay for your beer!

For a sunny Sunday afternoon the atmosphere was disappointing. A few people, but pretty dull. No buzz.

The beer we tried was very good. However, it was outrageously over priced.

I get it. It's a specialty craft beer and they cost more than your average mass produced offering. I've been drinking craft beers all over the world for over 30 years.

On a quality to value scale, Sweden comes in at the very bottom. Some reasonable beers at totally unreasonable prices.

In all fairness, this venue is not alone with their price gouging policy. It's a Sweden wide malaise.

In conclusion if you just want to try one or two beers the quality is acceptable. Make sure to bring your own group of friends for entertainment.

If you're in for an extended session of craft beer indulgence, take a flight to any one of many European cities for a weekend.
