Racamaca — Restaurant in Stockholm

Best, unique fusion tapas I ever tried! Very crowded place.. Note that you can't book ahead (email/phone). We sat inside, atmophere outside is definitely more fun and cozy. Everything is fresh, delicious and very unique. Boquerones, beef tartar and queen scallops are to die for. Also the vegetarian dishes (zucchini, beets) were packad with flavours. The condiments makes all the difference in their presentation and as a whole. The breadscrusts, xipister sauce, pickled asparagus/mustard seeds and the toasted almonds. WOW! Complemented the dishes outstandingly. Only downside is the portions, even the pie dessert (hence the 4 stars) and we all know tapas are not that big to begin with. I wasn't very hungry, so we ordered 6 to share between 2, but could easily have 2-3 more dishes to be completely stuffed. Service was friendly and fairly attentive for being such a busy place. They forgot one of our tapases and we had to remind them. The only tapas we did not fancy was the Brillat savarin french cheese, very bland in comparence to the other dishes. Overall I really enjoyed the uniqueness of this place and left with a smile. Classy food but laidback :) Little bit pricy for quantity, but top notch for quality. Great...

We start talking about the place. Located right at the Mariatorget metro exit, it is a very comfortable meeting point, but it has a small problem, you cannot make reservations and the place fills up quite quickly, the sittings are only 2 hours, which is more than enough for enjoy some wines and tapas, but for groups of more than 5 or 6 people it can be complicated to manage..

Food! This time we only tried 3 different tapas, but the truth is that I was pleasantly surprised! Very good seasoning, well-balanced flavors and flavor influences that seemed very recognizable to me in the tapas we tried between Spain and Sweden... very interesting 🙂

The staff is friendly, decisive, distant and close when deserved at all times, always acting correctly and they were also able to convey that they were happy with the work and service they offered, which is greatly appreciated.

In short, I think it is a great place to enjoy some drinks and some tapas in an informal way, but as a meeting point, not as the place you want to go since space is very limited and availability can be an inconvenience. The first experience left me wanting more, maybe on my next visit I can enjoy it even better and be able to give them...

OK - the food is good, great presentation, good ingredients,vibe good (music a bit meh), service good, it was busy and they accomodated... We arrived towards the end of service as luck would have it. The small plates are definitely very small, we ordered 6 + 1 portion of bread between 3 , which with 3 non alcoholic drinks and a wine cost about 1150kr and we were still hungry. She did say "don't hold back", guess we were maybe penny pinching a bit but when they say small plates you better believe they are small. For someone who works doing manual work and so on, and need the calories, this doesn't work out for me. If your dieting, believe me, the portion control here may work for your waistline but maybe not...
