Restaurang Hongkist — Restaurant in Stockholm

This place has potential to be more than just another neighborhood place serves Swedish Chinese food. Right now they have both authentic Hong Kong Cantonese and Swedish Chinese on the menu, which can easily confuse the customers. Those who pick the authentic dishes would think this place is quite decent, yet those who pick the Swedish Chinese dishes would think this place is nothing special. I would personally recommend taking their authentic part of the menu, then you can have a taste of Hong Kong Cantonese daily food. The beef in the noodle wok was very tender, and the wontons were flavorful. The tiger prawns were sizzling when they got served and the onion tomato based sauce was enhancing the flavors of the prawns. I hope in the future they could remove the Swedish Chinese dishes and add more HK Dai Pai Dong (Open-air Food Stalls) styled dishes, to fills in the blanks of this special cuisine...

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Hongkist. We had preordered the Peking Duck which had crispy skin and juicy meat. For dessert we split their Hong Kong style french toast, fried bananas and mochi ice cream, all were delicious. The staff was very attentive, making sure to fill up our glasses. Plus points for splitting all the deserts in four parts for us to easily share, it was a nice touch. The restaurant itself is very plain but clean. The table behind us ordered all 8 sizzling meat at once which smoke made it quite hard to breathe and a few guests were coughing, perhaps better ventilation would improve this. Overall though Hongkist delivered on both price, quality and service....

As an Asian tourist, eating chinese food in europe, I would give this restaurant 5 stars. The food they serve really suits our taste buds. We ordered wonton noodle that was served hot (usually other resto's just serve it warm). The 3 small dishes that is supposed for 1 person, but we shared and still feel satisfied. The 3 small dishes comes with rice. And the taste was so nice. The servings are in unique containers. So, when in Stockholm, and you want chinese food. I would highly recommend...
