The food was really good, the drinks were great too, and I especially loved the starter they served.
However, the service was extremely disappointing and far below expectations. The staff was completely unwelcoming. My wife had planned a small birthday surprise for her friend , she brought a cake, and like any other restaurant in Sweden, we simply asked if they could keep it and bring it out once we were done with our meal. We weren’t asking for any special celebration or arrangement, just a simple gesture. To our surprise, they flatly refused, saying they “don’t have any policy for birthdays.” But I never saw it written anywhere in their menu etc.
On top of that, one of the waitresses was particularly rude. We were a group of four and politely asked if we could sit near the view. Another waitress was actually trying to help us, but an older one (I don’t know her name) gestured to stop her and said not to give us that table. We didn’t mind the refusal itself, but her attitude afterward was shockingly unprofessional. When we tried to ask her a few simple questions, she responded rudely, and her expression made it clear she didn’t want to deal with us.
This waitress seriously needs proper customer service training. Please ensure she doesn’t interact with customers directly until she improves, it truly spoiled what could have been a lovely dining experience.
By the way, I was speaking Swedish to her the whole time she’s clearly not a native Swede but I honestly don’t know what happened when I switched to English once; she suddenly flared up and became rude...
Read more‼️we really did not like the service of one of the waiters of the establishment, 😡whose name is (❗️Triip)❗️, I did not remember the name well, I hope it is correct. at first she ruined the mood of our company, she was indignant that we pressed the wrong button (pay) and accidentally called her instead of the button (order). then she often began to come in herself, bothering us with the question of whether it is possible to clean the table. despite the fact that we ate and drank and our table was full🤷🏻♀️ ... we also constantly ordered something new. finally she came and said that we have 10 minutes to get out of there 🤷🏻♀️... because other clients are coming soon. we were very indignant at this approach. this is over-arrogance! we celebrated our birthday with our family and everything went well. We were unpleasant by the fact that on the site where we registered, it was not indicated how long you can stay in the restaurant at your table. we found out at the reception about the time and the time was extended, but the mood and the evening was ruined, and we left ... but in general: the cuisine is delicious and the decor is excellent. but I ask the administration to do better, educate their...
Read moreThe ThaiBoat has always stood out predominantly for it's over-the-top kitsch. Igloos, plastic palms, disco lights, mixed with .. christmas decoration? Or just sparkly baubles? I don't know, but its an eye-catcher for sure! Perhaps a poor heuristic, but that tropical disco sailor jam always made me think they need a catchy atmosphere to compensate for average food - until last night when I actually tried it. It was good food! I only had vegan dishes - so can't comment on anything else - but what I had came with good amount of spice, fresh vegetables, innovative cocktails. All what I had not expected!
So why only 4 stars? The one thing that rubbed me substantially wrong is that taking the sharing-menu for two people, with which you get 4 dishes, is pricier than taking each a starter and a main course but looks like altogether less food than you'd get in two main courses alone (i.e. you could take the same dishes that are on the menu as starter and main and pay less to get more). That left me feeling a bit robbed - and hungry - hence only 4 stars. But now you know not make the same mistake, and can go try the good...
