Pizzeria Ristorante Molino Basel — Restaurant in Basel

After having our main courses and a bottle of wine we waited for over an hour and a half to be offered a dessert or something else to drink (our glasses and bottle were empty). We noticed that the waiter would not service unless asked to do so so we decided to just wait and see how long would it take for him to come to us and offer us to continue our dinner with a dessert, more wine, water, coffee, anything! After over an hour and a half of waiting with no wine no water or anything on the table we got tired of waiting and decided to ask for the the bill even if we would have purchased more wine, desserts, coffee and mineral water. It is a pity that the service is so bad because The food and location are not too bad. It wasn’t even busy with just 4, then 3, then 2 other tables occupied. We wondered whether we should be the last people in the restaurant to be offered anything else but we decided that it was enough and we will try to get the bill. I recently dined with my friends..and had a rather unusual experience. While the service was generally polite, there were a couple of points that left me a bit disappointed.

Firstly, I ordered a pizza that unfortunately didn't meet my expectations. It seemed to have very little cheese, which is a key component for me. When I inquired about it, I was informed that the cook had to leave unexpectedly, leading to the pizza being prepared quickly. While I appreciate the honesty, the quality of the pizza suffered as a result.

Secondly, I was surprised to find an extra charge on my bill for the cheese, despite the limited amount that was actually present.

I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise in a restaurant setting, and I appreciate the waiter's polite explanation. However, I feel that the pizza's quality and the extra charge didn't align with the overall dining experience I was hoping for. I hope this feedback can be used to ensure better consistency...

Although I have only been once, and only had the Pizza there(I had Margherita), I can say with certainty that most people will find this restaurant good. The pizza was indeed great, and so was the atmosphere. The decor, I must say was what you would expect from such a fine establishment and the staff all spoke Italian, and with Molinos being an Italian restaurant, this was a nice bit of attention to detail. I give Molinos 4 stars because they seem to preffer to seat people who look, lets say, more affluent first. We had to wait to get seated for a while, even though there were 8 free seats immediately visible. An elderly couple came after us and was seated before us, and much more promptly too. I feel that the restaurant hosted us with some amount of reluctance. The 4 stars that Molinos did earn, was because the food and atmosphere was good(I found the pricing to...
