Artigiano Café - Neapolitan Pizzeria — Restaurant in Basel

I recently visited this Italian restaurant in the heart of Basel, which specializes in pizza. While the prices are on the higher side, the food quality is truly outstanding.

The staff is friendly, but there's room for improvement in terms of their warmth and hospitality. The ambiance inside the restaurant is just fine, nothing too extraordinary, but it's a comfortable setting for a meal.

A noteworthy point is that reservations are only available for groups of 10 or more, which could be limiting for smaller gatherings. However, as there aren't many tables available, it's understandable.

Payments can be made through credit/debit cards, as well as cash. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and has a baby changing room, which is a plus for families with young children.

The washrooms are quite old and could use an update, but they're functional.

Their speciality, fried pizzas, didn't impress me much, and I wouldn't recommend them. However, the rest of the menu offers high-quality, delicious Italian fare that's worth a try.

Overall, this cozy Italian pizza gem in Basel is a good spot to enjoy a tasty meal, but there's room for some improvements in service...

I went to this shop on 31 July 2019 for lunch with 4 friends. 5 of us ordered 3 sets and 2 additional drinks from the set menu (which should come with pizza, drink, coffee and appetizer) for sharing. Only the pizza and drinks came. When we asked what about the other items. The staff claim that they made a mistake and assumed that we ordered from the ala-cate menu. However, the types of pizza ordered were not on the ala-carte menu. Also, we clearly remembered we ordered from the set menu

The bill was the real surprised. They billed us 24.5 24.5 and 23.5 for 3 pizzas. This was even more expensive than having set lunches (set lunch was priced at 23.5 CHF ). In addition, drinks were counted separately. In total we paid 99.5 CHF for 3 pizza and 5 drinks. Where we could have ordered 5 sets (pizza drinks appetizer coffee) for 117CHF.

As a waiter, shouldn’t he clarify before placing and order for us. Who in the right mind will pay more for less items? Avoid this shop. They are not transparent with...

Artigiano in Basel is a true amazing dining experiences! This charming restaurant, specializing in authentic Neapolitan cuisine, offers a delightful ambiance and a menu that tantalizes the taste buds. We love the mouthwatering pizzas, every dish we tried was a perfection which came out of that 450 degrees celcius stone oven. They have a nice variations to choose which everyone can enjoy. This time we sat inside. However, when it’s summer I’m looking forward to sit at their peaceful terrace to enjoy pizza. The service staff, notably Fabrizio and Elisa, were exceptionally attentive, friendly, and truly enhanced our evening.
