Maron Café — Restaurant in Chur

Agreed with Dr. C. Singh below, this restaurant is a complete racist. When we entered the waitress told us no tables and she told us that she does not know what to do. Come on, if you are a waiter you should know how to treat customers with respect. Then all of the sudden, she decided to gave us a table. After 5 minutes wait she gave us “english menu” because we are foreigners. We waited 15 more minutes and she did not bothered to take our order. We left after 20 minutes. If you are a person of color, please avoid this restaurant. My wife is a huge believer in humanity and treating people with most respect and kindness no matter their beliefs or color. Had a cappuccino while waiting for my train. The foam was thick enough to support a small ecosystem, props for that. But the moment I took a sip, I knew: this wasn’t portafilter coffee. My taste buds filed a missing flavor report.

It wasn’t bad, just… automatic. Like a machine made it while thinking about its next oil change. The café itself is classy, the pastries look tempting (probably legally delicious), and the location is unbeatable. But if you’re a coffee nerd hoping for that fresh espresso hit from a proper portafilter, this ain’t it.

Still, caffeine was delivered. Mission accomplished, emotionally...

The café is in a fantastic location, just steps away from the station. The service is good, the staff is friendly, and the cake is delicious.

However, paying 4.60 francs for tea served with a simple teabag and boiling water is disappointing. For this price, I expect greater attention to detail, with proper and thoughtful service.

The extra charge for the cake is also puzzling: the customer has to collect it from the counter, which does not justify the additional cost.
