Walking into Britannia Pub was like being transported to an English village pub on a chilled evening.
The atmosphere was antiqued- but warm and inviting. You expect to see your uncle or other relative sitting in the corner- and yet we were in the heart of Genève.
What we ate: Food: 3✨ Braised Lamb Shank: it was tasty, but overcooked and the sauce had a packaged taste. The vegetables were also overcooked but tasty.
Arrabbiata: This was disappointing as we love a good pasta sauce. We were advised that the sauce was made fresh daily, however it tasted like standard canned pasta sauce with too much chili pepper. The sauce was thick and due to the excess pepper we couldn't eat it.
Location: 5✨
The location is central and just steps away from the train station, hotels, and major tourist attractions. It is perfectly poised to attract tourists and become a go to spot for locals in transit to have a pint.
Overall- it was a fun experience and if we return I will have the fish and chips. It was a memorable part of our experience.

Read moreDuring our stay at Hotel Astoria last November, my wife, young son, and I had the pleasure of visiting Britannia Pub each morning for their continental breakfast. While the breakfast itself was a great perk of the hotel stay—simple, fresh, and well-prepared—the real highlight was the exceptional service from Scott, the barman.
From the very first morning, Scott made us feel right at home. By the second day, he had already memorized our coffee orders and even set up a table with a child’s chair before we arrived—a small but incredibly thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes about his attentiveness. Beyond his excellent service, Scott is a genuinely great guy with an interesting life story, and chatting with him became something we looked forward to each morning.
Geneva is full of excellent cafés and restaurants, but it’s rare to find this level of warmth and hospitality. If I return, it would be just to thank Scott again for making our mornings so enjoyable. Highly recommend stopping by—whether for breakfast, a pint, or simply some great...
Read moreI arrived in Geneva after a difficult two weeks and was greeted by the Britannia not 1 minute after walking out the train station.
1L beer, friendly staff who made such an effort to speak English as my French is basic at best, great atmosphere and, without a doubt, one - if not - the best burgers i have ever had. I don't know if it was the beer, my exhaustion or the burger itself but wow wow wow! People were watching me enjoy the heck out of this burger, I couldn't care less. What a way to start my travelling journey through Europe.
