Hello Everyone, I would rate the food and service of this restaurant a good 5 stars as I had wonderful dining experience. I just bumped into this restaurant while looking for some desi food nearby where I was staying. Though it was not my first visit but I had tried few restaurants around the area.
I had ordered for paneer dishes as I was so badly craving for it. Paneer Tandoori, Palak Paneer, Jeera Rice, Roti and I requested chef to make desi style chai which just made me miss Mumbai so much. I would love to visit u guys again whenever I am im geneva again.
I would like to thank Guri bhai, the server who served me, Chef Kuljeet who made my food and the gentleman who put together the music collections playing in the background.
What else would you ask for ?
Bollywood music, Desi khana like the way its had in India - No overpowering, No taam jhaam, just balanced flavours amalgamated in depth.
To the team of Masala House-

Read moreThe restaurant is small and informal which is nice but it is basically bare walls and small sized tables.
The service is prompt but purely transactional (probably because they are used to complaints from diners so in anticipation they adopt an unfriendliness to draw lines in advance).
The food I can only describe as lukewarm European continental food that one would typically find in a factory canteen.
The basmati rice was probably made in the afternoon (we dined in the late evening).
The lamb karahi tasted like a simple tomato sauce with onion. It was not bad but it had nothing to do with karahi plus it was borderline sweet.
The naans are made on a frying pan. They are OK but no, they are not Indian.
In short none of the items we ate resembled Indian food in anything but name.
All food was extremely bland (I dare say not a single chilli was used and perhaps none of the 130+ spices India blessed the world with).
Thankfully their prices are relatively low for Geneva but if you are in search for authentic Indian food this...

So I posted a critical review of this place after being denied food, just because we wanted to order 2 curries for 4 adults.
However, the owner couldn’t handle my review and followed me and my family, and literally threatened me to delete the review. He told me that he’ll call the police if I don’t delete the review - what stupidity.
These are people who can’t take criticism or feedback well. It seems they are not in the hospitality industry, but in the business of keeping their google ratings up. Check out other 1 star reviews of this place and you will find multiple examples of such behaviour. This was not a one off.
No amount of good food is worth dealing with such people. I would strongly recommend you save yourself some potential harassment and visit other great Indian...
