Hungky — Restaurant in Geneva

On Monday 14 august arround 19:50 had an issue for the second time with the same rude Chinese waitress. Last week I went there with a friend and this horrible waitress came to our table and with out saying hello or nothing she just literally drop the menús at our table in a very agressive way. My friend complained about her to an other server and of course we didnt left any tips for her. I'm a customer of this place from 8 years ago, since the restaurant was at the other location at Paquis, today I was dinning alone there and arround 19h50, same rude and ignorant woman where super nasty to me again. I had told to the Portuguese nice waiter that I know from many years at the restaurant, that it was really hot, so he set a fan in my table's direction. This nasty woman took it away, then I put it back where it was, then she took it away again even when an other server argued with her that she should leave it where it was..then she started arguing with me and the other server with very bad and low manners, shouting infront all customers, after that I decided to leave even when I didnt eat my food, I pay my bill at the bar and when I where leaving, this woman even try to make fun of me, telling me that she was sorry at the same time she was laughing. I just would like to get my issue to the owner of the restaurant and tell him that this person have not the Intelligence and capacity to face public and is making the place loose customers. Im really upset to be treated like that for such this ridículos person who work there.I asked for a manager to talk about the issue but the staff told me that the manager where not there at that moment. Outstanding! Truly authentic Chinese food, and one of the best Chinese or Asian meals I have had in Europe so far. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re missing the true taste of Chinese food in Europe!

As soon as I saw duck tongues on the menu, I knew this was a proper Chinese restaurant. They were an absolutely delicious snack - the taste and texture were sensational with a cold beer! Deep-fried, salt and pepper style, just like at other top Cantonese restaurants around the world. There’s a bone inside each tongue, but which makes it somewhat like eating chicken wings. The flavour is superb, and not at all strong as I had imagined, and tasted only mildly of duck.

All the other dishes were superb, and were served to us super fast and super hot.

The service is very good, everyone at Hungky are wonderful! So thankful they looked after us so well because we are only visiting Geneva. When we couldn’t get any cars on the ride app, they called a taxi for us, brought over some chairs so we could sit down and wait at the front of the restaurant, but we didn’t have to wait long as the taxi arrived quickly.

What a great meal...

Service is rude and truly awful. We were already seated (inside) and the waiter arrived and asked us rudely (tone and mannerism) to move from one table to another. We explained we preferred our original table due to the fan (the only one) being nearby. She did not listen and hushed us to move to the farther corner. I was seated and she physically went to my back to open a door on the wall and turn on the lights. I had to move as I was physically in her way to do it. There could be a language barrier perhaps but she definitely seem she was bothered by us, which is worrisome. There was a young lady that wanted to listen to us and the manager seemed confused about the whole situation. We do not recommend this place if you want to have a nice meal with good service. The food looks may be good but not worthy the experience. Hope with this review they listen and get better at treating people specially tourists...
