Terrible experience. Staff was incredibly unfriendly since the first minute. It was a Saturday night and I had booked a table for 3 people four days in advance. When we arrived, we were placed in a tiny table for two one cm away from the door. We asked for another table because it was 1ºC outside and we were squeezed in a table too smal for us, but we were told very rudely that they were fully booked. I believe that table should not be offered at all to anyone, or maybe if you pass by without a reservation and you insist to eat there, but not for someone who has made a reservation FOUR days in advance. I am 100% sure that other people in other tables have not all called before me to have the right to get a better , or at least normal, table. Both my two guests had to eat dinner with their coat on, it was a terrible experiencie and of course we couldn't enjoy anything else. The staff wasn't helpful at all and the door was opened every two minutes. The two waiters not only didn't try to make us have a better time, but they even went out for a cigarette at least five times each. At some point a table for four got free and we asked if we could move there, but we were told that it was not possible because one of the musicians that was about to perform would be sitting there. We left the restaurant approximately one hour later and nobody sat in that table. This was the only day I went out for a "good" restaurant with my guests, who were only this one time in Geneva, and it was the worst. My guests and I hated it and it totally ruined our night and entired weekend. A kind message to the owner of the place: Nobody cares if you have good rostis, if the service (organization and friendliness of the staff) is bad, you are doomed. They could maybe have offered us a drink or a dessert to make up for the disaster, but of course they didn't even think of it, nor they...
Read moreI came here with my Sprouse. I ordered a still water. Waiter told that must be 2 bottles because it is a small bottle. Then I told him I wanted to change. My Sprouse ordered a chocolate chaud and I ordered a chocolate viennois instead. Then the waiter served us 1 chocolate viennois and 1 still water(opened). I repeated him that I told to change already and I wanted another chocolate chaud. Then he kept the stil water back to the kichen and brought us a chocolate chaud. After finish dinner, I asked to bill. He brought us a bill that had a still water, a chocolate chaud, and a chocolate viennois in the bill. I asked him and he told that he couldn't cancel the still water because his boss was not there and let me pay for it, if not, he had to pay by himself. He told that he could give us a still water take home, so I had no choice. After paid, he gave us a new bottle of water(not open yet).
This was my first restaurant we chose to had our first dinner in Geneva but it was the experience I did not expect to have in the developed city and very expensive dish like this, really impressed but not...
Read moreNICE LOCATION AND DECOR, NICE FOOD, RUDE STAFF
I have visited this cafe’ in the beautiful old quarters of Geneva twice. It has a fairly nice decor, creating pleasant and cosy atmosphere with some background music. The cafe also offers outside seating. They have a decent menu with a standard selection of cafe’ type dishes. On both of the occasions that we ate here, the food was really very nice. Unfortunately, it is rather a great shame that the waiting staff can spoil the whole experience by being rather rude and arrogant. On the very first visit I thought that our waiter’s behaviour was somewhat out of order but we ignored it. However, the second visit was beyond all imagination. Frankly, before our second (and now also the last) visit to this café, I had never experienced such ill-mannered attitude from staff in a restaurant, in Geneva, or anywhere else. Hence...
