I came in with no reservation at 8 pm on a Monday night. All the tables had a sign saying “reserved” but thankfully the friendly owner let me choose one of three tables to sit at.
The restaurant is small and was busy with a few couples and a large table of business colleagues. Note that it is a bit cramped especially in winter with coats hanging. Not a place you can bring shopping bags to…:) This also means that you can hear the conversations of other patrons.
Service was polite and helpful. Prices reasonable for Geneva.
The reviews on both Trip Advisor and Google promised much. Alas, my sweet and sour prawns left much to be desired in terms of the freshness, taste and the quality of the sauce. (I was born and raised in Asia and grew up on this food.) Probably not the best item on the menu to judge this restaurant by.
It’s in the old town and surrounded by restaurants serving traditional Swiss and European fare, which is probably what I would try if back in this area based on...
Read moreWas not a big fan of this restaurant. Both my boyfriend and me weren't really happy with our food. It was really lacking in flavour, salt and freshness. Especially my tofu was plain. Guys, there's so many ways to make good tofu. Your vegan and vegatarian clients would appreaciate your effort (well, looking at the prices you should get an effortless meal without any question). At least season the tofu a bit or fry it to give it a little crunchiness. Also my legumes didn't seem fresh. And the sauce, the sauce... Was it just water with some starch? Flavour it up guys! I definitely see potential. But at this price point, I would've expected a lot a lot more. 1 star goes to the interior design of the restaurant. 1 for the young waiter who did his job well. Didn't appreciate the sassy way the owner communicated...
Read moreGreeted by a friendly Ho! Beyond lovely staff including Ho himself :) deeeelish food good portions and great price! The Canard laqué not only comprised of duck pancakes etc but also came with soup starter and a duck main course included in the reasonable “Geneva price” (by this I mean same price as the most expensive fine dining Chinese restaurant in the whole of Las Vegas but CHEAP by Geneva standards!) The skin crispy and not at all greasy. My only critique the crispy beef was not my fave dish tasted “oily”. But overall the whole dining experience was good. (Lets not exaggerate its not Hakkasan). The house red lovely and the final bill a nice surprise (unless u are in Vegas or the rest of the free world). Fully booked on a Tuesday night. A small jewel of a restaurant by Geneva standards. No rats...
