Ristorante-Pizzeria Da Salvi in Grindelwald delivers an exceptional dining experience—this place is a true gem for lovers of Italian cuisine. Dinner began with their homemade lasagna, which was an absolute standout: thick layers of pasta nestled in a rich, deeply flavorful bolognese sauce, every bite bursting with comfort and excellence. The Mamamia pizza, with its perfectly baked crust and generous, fresh toppings, delighted with its authentic wood-fired taste, living up to the highest standards for Italian pizza in Switzerland.
Service was remarkably swift and attentive; food arrived at the table impressively soon after ordering—making the evening comfortable and stress-free, even on a busy night. The homemade tiramisu was the essence of classic Italian dessert: creamy, balanced, and fresh, a blissful finish to a memorable meal. The Amaro del Capo digestif deserves special mention—it was so smooth and satisfying that ordering a double was irresistible; an ideal coda to the meal for those who appreciate a refined after-dinner drink.
From the speed of service to the skill in the kitchen, Da Salvi is a masterclass in hospitality and flavor. Every dish radiates authenticity, and the warmth of the staff completes the experience—indisputably Grindelwald’s best options for...
Read moreThey serve excellent Italian food — both pasta and pizza were delicious. We also tried the half grilled chicken and fried octopus, which were fantastic. In my opinion, this might be the best Italian restaurant in Grindelwald! The Spaghetti aglio e peperoncino mit Knoblauch & Peperoncini was perfectly seasoned, simple yet full of flavor — we loved it so much that we came back again the next night. Prices are quite reasonable compared to other mountain restaurants in Grindelwald or Zermatt.
The staff were very friendly. On our last day, a waitress warmly recommended sights in Lucerne and the summer toboggan, then even treated us to tiramisu and limoncello — we were truly grateful.
As for flies, yes, they exist — but this has nothing to do with the restaurant’s hygiene. You’ll find wild flies and wasps around in most restaurants in Grindelwald, or even in Swiss and German countryside homes. Just wave them away; they’re harmless. Remember, we’re the ones entering their natural habitat, not them disturbing us. My sincere advice — if you’re used to city life and want a spotless, bug-free environment, then just stay in your clean house. Don’t come up to the mountains and complain...
Read moreMost racist experience in a restaurant ever. I have been to many restaurants in many countries in Europe and this was by far the worst experience. The waitress(with tattoos on her hand) was serving the interior section of the restaurant and was very rude to us. She took us to our seat which was quite literally infested with flies, I counted 15+ myself. She then threw the plates on our table. Once we requested for our spot to be changed to the exterior section of the restaurant, she replied, “ it’s not my section.” We had to ask the waiter on the exterior ourselves and we had to take our own plates and bring it to our new spot on the exterior section of the restaurant ourselves. She then started complaining to us saying that “who will pay for the papers that were used for your previous spot in the interior.” Overall, Her attitude and behaviour to us was racist this was even more evident once we saw her laughing and chatting with the white guests. The waiter on the exterior section treated us very well and was quite welcoming to us. The food was okay not the best. Overall, racist and infested with flies. Would not recommend...
