I purchased a latte at this place (this morning). The coffee cup was 65% foam - rough estimate. I do not mind paying for expensive coffee as long as it taste good and come with more coffee than foam. I am no barista, but I can tell when coffee is missing. The story would have ended here with a friendly and simple “Sir, the coffee machine needs to be adjust, we are sorry”. I would have understood, but the customer service was dismal (1 out 10). The cashier was unnecessarily rude and use a tone that I would use with a 5 years old when he or she does something wrong. I understand that lines can stress most people but if you are going to work as a cashier please be sure you understand the job’s demands.

Advice to the NZZ team, Adjust the coffee machine to the right ratio when making a latte (Ratio milk and coffee: 1/3 espresso: double shot, 2/3 steamed milk (170 – 225 ml), 1 cm foam.)

Please hire professional staff, it is ok not to be 100% all the time, but at least hire people that can keep a decent level of civility and friendliness while working as a cashier. as I said, it is ok if things are not working well, but at the least try not to talk down to customers it is not a great long...

Leaving aside all the useless considerations about how everything results overpriced for many of us in the whole Zürich airport; I must point out that the staff of this cafè was formed by the only people that I met working at the Zürich airport who treated and approached the public with proper manners. Some of them also attended customers with a smile on their face, without showing the typical Swiss smirk. On the top of that, there's plenty of choice in their offer and the food/beverages are pretty good. The kind of place where I would recommend to stop by and have a nice German beer (the Erdinger never disappoints) AND (if you're rich) a little snack from their bakery. PS I had the mezzaluna just because I received a meal voucher as compensation due to my...

Not satisfied with the service. As there is no indication of the queue-ing direction (from left to right OR right to left), everyone swamped at the counter. My 14 y.o.daughter was standing there with a mineral bottle waiting to pay. And nope, no attention was giving to her. At the end of 4 min, I asked her to put it back and we walked away. Services at the airport is like at the train station, 80% of the customers are in a rush....

My favorite place to sit down, have a coffee and a good sandwich and relax before my flight. I recommend the roasted beef sandwich which is the biggest and the most expensive at 14.5 chf, but it's worth it. Coffee prices are in the range of acceptable starting at around 5 chf.
