Café des Artisans — Restaurant in Lausanne

I came to this restaurant, expecting to have a good time with my colleagues, but it turned out to be a nightmare...

The food itself was good, but the service was just horribly slow and very disappointing. The staffs were not attentive and not welcoming at all.

We were completely ignored during the whole eveing and had to call them every single time we needed something. We waited more than an hour to get our dishes served... not a single word of apology...

The staffs, especially the young waitress, just gave us the impression that they hated their job and didn't want to be there.

It's really a shame because the service used to be very friendly and attentive before, and that was the reason we picked this place for our afterwork dinner. This time the charm and the welcoming atmosphere were completly gone.

I actually would give a 4-star for the beef tartare and affogato that I had, but the horrible service and the super long wait just...

What an exquisite experience. We came for dinner and we enjoy every single part of this place from beginning to end. Lovely terrace in center Lausanne with a very attentive and friendly staff. But now about the food. There's an one page menu and yet every dish sounds so delicious, it took us some time to decide. We had the burrata and tomatoes carpaccio for starters and perch and tartar for main dishes. The portions are well balanced, all products were good quality and well seasoned. The entire tasty was just a senses delight. The ice cream is locally made, not to sweet, not too creamy, just perfect. I strongly recommend the cheesecake which was simply heaven. They will have a unique selection of wines to recommend you with the food and well made cocktails. We are looking forward to go back...

We just stopped by for a quick snack but ended up eating dinner.

I was positively surprised by all meals. We had steak and duck. Especially the duck stood out. It was perfectly prepared. Each ingredient was nicely prepared and felt qualitatively good.

Yes, it is a bit pricey, however they are in line with the other restaurants nearby. But with the big difference that they actually provide a food experience that you cannot easily make yourself at home. That is what counts for me and that is why I happily recommend this place.

Would I go again?...
