King Size Pub — Restaurant in Lausanne

First time trying to order some food at this pub and the female staff behind the bar was so rude. She spoke to customers like speaking to dogs because we did not understand how the service and payment system at this pub is! Of course, customers don't know everything and how you work there. Your duty is to explain them how it works. If you don't explain, do not expect that everyone must understand. The way she spoke to us was unacceptable. For us, this was the first time trying and of course the last time! ... never again!!! Who wants to come to the place where you have to pay and then get insulted by rude staff???

If you are in Lausanne and like enjoying your time in a nice pub, I recommend McCarthy's Irish Pub, Pl. Pépinet 1, 1003 Lausanne. There, you have full services. You can sit with your friends at your table, taking your time to see menu and select your food. Staff will come to take your order and serve you food at your table. At the end of your course, staff comes to check and facilitate payment at your table. You don't need to pay each time when you order food or drink like at King Size. This is more convenient. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I always gave them some tips at the end of the course as they deserved it. The ambiance inside the pub is very cozy. You can watch football or rugby matches. Une soirée gâchée par un comportement inadmissible

Nous avons célébré l’anniversaire d’un ami dans ce bar, mais l’expérience a été ruinée par le comportement du régisseur. Nous étions installés près de son espace, ce qui n’était pas notre choix, et malgré nos efforts pour respecter les consignes, son attitude a été agressive et irrespectueuse.

La première fois, il nous a demandé de ne pas passer derrière lui, ce qui est compréhensible, mais la manière de le dire était déplacée. Ensuite, il nous a menacés de “s’énerver” si nous ne faisions pas attention. Nous avons calmement signalé qu’il pourrait s’exprimer autrement, puis avons suivi ses consignes.

Cependant, la situation a dégénéré lorsqu’il nous a demandé de parler moins fort dans un bar bruyant où un concert avait lieu. Malgré nos efforts, il s’est montré encore plus irrespectueux en disant à mon ami de “fermer sa gueule”. Ce comportement est inacceptable, d’autant plus que nous étions des clients comme les autres et avons beaucoup consommé ce soir-là.

Le régisseur a ensuite appelé des collègues pour nous faire sortir. Le “gérant” a prétendu avoir tout vu, puis a admis plus tard qu’il n’avait rien vu, ce qui montre une incohérence flagrante.

Pour couronner le tout, lorsque mon ami est revenu chercher les noms des employés concernés, ce dernier a poussé violemment mon ami à 2 reprises sans raison en lui disant de dégager. Mon ami n’a même pas réagit. Il y a plusieurs témoins, dieu merci !

Le soi-disant “gérant” a pris la défense de ce régisseur, malgré son comportement inacceptable, au lieu de soutenir des clients qui n’avaient rien fait de mal. Si un établissement cautionne de tels agissements, c’est qu’il y a un gros problème. Je ne remettrai jamais les pieds ici.

Pour vous, vous perdez peut-être seulement quelques clients ce soir, mais croyez-moi, le bouche-à-oreille, ça fait beaucoup. Une personne peut déjà en informer 100, et ainsi de suite. Faites attention à cela.🙏🏽

Looking for live music on a Friday, check out the battle of the Pianos. Two players competing to raise the atmosphere (not that its needed). Bar staff are friendly but you do have to grab there attention for service. Loads of seating inside and and outside. Smoking area is covered and spacious. You'll get free peanuts at the bar and there is a cocktail bar on one side of the pub. Some reviews call it an Irish Bar (it is definitely NOT an Irish Bar and being Irish myself I think I'm permitted to judge). All that said, its location in the center of the Flon area and proximity to the restaurants and cinema make it a fantastic place to start or end your night out...
