We ordered the fondue and, in our opinion, it was terrible. First of all, for €55 for two people, we were served bread and a plate of cheese. And nothing else. No cold cuts, no potatoes, nothing. Just bread and cheese. Maybe that's normal for Switzerland, but we were expecting more. Secondly, the fondue was extremely bitter — we guess too much wine was used. We left half of it uneaten because we simply didn’t enjoy it. The place itself is nice, and the staff is friendly. But the fondue is a 1/10. I can't recommend it.

Tonight we discovered a quaint, neighborhood, locals restaurant in Lausanne that was established in 1780. Flowing with charm and personality, and full of people enjoying themselves. We had a wonderful farm to table salad, the best cheese fondue ever, and a side of hashbrowns that were to die for (the side of hashbrowns is not on the menu, but they will do it). The wines were surprisingly good. I had the Merlot Ticino and my wife had a glass, actually several glasses, of Prosecco. A real hidden gem!

One of the historical cafe of Lausanne with old fashioned but well maintained interior. It was interesting to climb to the second floor on the very narrow stairs :) We had the menu fondue tradition for 2, it's a complete set with dried meat platter and fondue moitié moitié with bread. The portion was not too big but it was enough when closed with the dessert included in the menu (meringues with double crème). It's a nice restaurant to eat typical Swiss food (they also have a nice papet Vaudois).

Rude staff and impossible seating arrangements!

I made a reservation for 6 people three weeks before coming to the restaurant on a Tuesday night. We actually ended up arriving with 5 people as one person cancelled and were walked to our table for 6. The table was that small, right next to the entrance and the wall that it was IMPOSSIBLE to sit down with 5 persons. Two people of our group had to get up for every single person who wanted to pass (again, the table was right next to the entrance) and the other 3 people had to cross legs and sit sideways next to the table as the wall did not permit to sit properly. After 3 minutes we asked the waitress if there was no other option. She could have not cared less and told us that this is the way it is and that traditional restaurants in Switzerland and simply narrow. She was rude and annoyed by our request. We then decided to leave and we had an amazing fondue that night at Grütli in Lausanne. Recommendation for the restaurant: if the space is narrow this is how it is BUT business should be done accordingly, meaning to accept the right amount of reservations. It is the same as buying a Smart Car and expecting to fit 7 family members in there - it...

Unfortunately, coming to this establishment was a mistake. There were multiple issues with our experience. The leading issue we was the poor service. The service was top 3 worst we’ve encountered in our live. We were neglected. Not checked in on once during your visit. We waited an hour before food came out. When it did, it was not that impressive at all. And we already have low standards. The waitresses looked flustered with doing their job. They took our waters away that we ordered. They also don’t bring part of our order. And then randomly, they decided to remove the lit candles at our table while we were eating. This was at 8pm on a Friday night. On Valentine’s Day, none the less. None of it made sense. Our experience was so bad that we decided to leave early and forego getting our desserts. We had to track them down to pay. We had enough. There are many other restaurants in the area that...

If you love fondue, then I'm sure you'll love this place. However, I made the mistake of visiting to enjoy a steak. When the meal arrived it was the wrong dish. I was very surprised at this as there had been quite a discussion about the one I'd actually chosen when I ordered it. The waitress clearly had difficulty communicating with us in English, but proceeded to argue about the order. Eventually, she conceded her mistake and brought the correct order. All would have been fine, but for the fact that the steak that arrived was the greyest most flavourless piece of beef I have ever experienced. We felt it necessary to leave to have dessert somewhere else to recover from the experience. Clearly we caught them during an off moment, but the other diners all seemed to be enjoying their fondue and having...
