Gambatte — Restaurant in Lausanne

We took the all you can eat Saturday lunch. Food was quick to arrive, so I can't echo other reviews of having to wait very long - but it wasn't too full either. The food quality was OK, nothing special but at the price it's a good deal. I assumed we needed to order drinks, it's common in all you can eat places, so that was not a surprise either.

My let down was that after 3 smaller orders we were asked by the owner whether we were soon done, since we were ordering too many times. She didn't force us to finish and we still ordered one final time (ordering more at once) but it made us feel watched and harassed. If you label yourself all you can eat you need to stop being stingy and making people feel bad for ordering in their way. Why go for an online ordering system if you enforce "3 large orders"? I guess it's to have people miscalculate amounts and then charge them for leftovers (this didn't happen to us, but it's apparently practiced here).

Pleasant ambience. At 35 Swiss francs it's incredibly good value for money. Would definitely recommend coming with a lot of time on your hands. They can take while but that's just because it's fresh. Great stuff. Service was pleasant too, everyone's English was good enough to get by. Will likely visit again. In a very pleasant neighborhood too with good dessert options for later and it makes for a nice respite from shopping. The food itself is very good too. The chef is excellent and increased the spices as requested. Each dish is exquisite and distinct which is no mean feat. I cannot praise this...

Many thanks so much for carrying out our family celebration really unforgettable! My brother had an excellent birthday, we will be coming back again. Extremely pleasant personnel, hadn't been here before but would definitely keep coming back again and again. A good range of food on the menu, often has loads of meals to select from and new dishes added by the chefs on a regular basis.
