BEST SPOT FOR BREAKFAST - GET THE WAFFLE!

One of my favorite meals on my Europe trip. What a cool little café in downtown Lucerne. Nestle just next to one of the beautiful art museums in a quaint little neighborhood.

The café serves breakfast until 11 AM, and then lunch fixings right after. We got there right at 11 AM, and we’re greeted by one of the hosts, who also doubled as the owner. She was super friendly, impromptu, explaining the entire menu. We ordered some of the maple syrup, waffles, and ham and cheese sandwiches. The waffle was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, as the waffle aficionado, I feel confident saying that this was one of the best ever!!!

Service was quick and great, and we liked it so much, we are going back for breakfast tomorrow!

Lovely staff and great food! Walked in here without researching but I’m glad I did. The service was exceptional.

As a tourist, I didn’t understand the German menu, the staff noticed and offered me an English menu. They also re-cooked my pasta because they tasted their sauce after serving it to me. They found it to be salty so they approached me to ask how it was, also offered to take back my order and add cream to it. Pasta was cooked again without wasting any food. Really kind of them to flag this out to me. Only 2 ladies running the place but they were very attentive to every customer.

So glad we stumbled upon this cafe during our stay in Lucerne. As soon as you walk in the door, you are warmly greeted by the owner/barista/chef extraordinaire! Knowing we weren’t from the area (from Canada), she immediately made us feel welcomed and handed us menus in English. She was attentive, thoughtful and even offered up some great touring recommendations. We enjoyed our experience so much, we returned for breakfast the following morning.
