Inattentive and unfriendly welcome. Plenty of staff but seemed to be preoccupied with training staff on a Saturday night. Bottle of water plonked down on the table without bothering to pour it, twice. Generous welcome portion of nibbles. The crackers were delicious, cashew nuts and cheese were nice, pork was tasteless. The salad was a good mix of numerous ingredients, and excellent. The half stale bread was unnecessary. Sirloin and vegetables were nice but the pork cheek had a overly meaty smell, the sort that lamb produces. Maybe because we spoke English, were tourists, only drank water, didn’t order extra courses, were the reason/s why we didn’t receive good service? I hate to give a bad review, especially when the establishment is clean and the staff is polite, helpful, and dedicated. But the purpose of reviews is to help other travelers, not businesses. We were fooled by the good reviews, and I don't want other people to end up in the same situation.

The food is just not good. My wife and I ate there, and they served us what appeared to be baked center-cut pork chops in some kind of thin white sauce. They had no flavor at all. Like hospital food.

I'm going to be blunt. These people cannot cook. I would like to see them do well, but they really need to bring in professional help to teach them about things like seasoning and browning. They seem to have a lot of drive, and the facility is good, so there is no reason why they shouldn't be able...

WOW this was such a great find in Luzern. The experience was top notch from the ambiance to the wait staff to the food. What to say about the food...this is one of the best meals I’ve had, not just in Switzerland, but ever. The cashews in the appetizer were addictively good (Sebastian even gave us a bag to take home!), the polenta and vegetables were rich and flavorful, and the beef escarote was cooked to perfect tenderness. Add to this the wonderful touches around the restaurant, such as the appetizer “toolbox” and the open kitchen where you can watch your food being made, and it was just an outstanding night all around.
