Kamuy Japanese Ramen — Restaurant in Montreux

Miso ramen was delicious, as recommended by the owner. Was wishing to find tonkotsu ramen but that's alright.

On the other hand, the tori kaarage was a disappointment. The batter was not crispy even though the dish was freshly prepared. A wedge of lemon was provided, so we squeezed it on top of the kaarage, but that makes the batter softer and fell apart. If the intention of adding lemon juice is there, then the batter needs readjustment to withstand small amount of liquid to retain its crispiness, such as adding starch component. This could be a personal preference, but we were hoping for some type of sauce to help the overall dry dish. The owner was helpful enough to offer a sweet chili sauce but we know that it would be disrespectful to dip Japanese style tori karaage into sweet chili sauce.

Overall, service orientation was very smooth and friendly. Owner making sure all guests are satisfied is a big plus. Kindly don't take our review too seriously as we are just a passing tourist. It is more important to cater to the tastes of returning...

Our family had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Kamuy Ramen in Montreux. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant had a warm and cozy feeling. It was a perfect place to try Japanese food for the first time. The owner, Mr. Bruno, was incredibly kind and welcoming. He took the time to explain each dish on the menu, making sure we understood everything and felt comfortable.

The ramen was absolutely delicious! The broth was rich and flavorful, and all the ingredients tasted fresh and high-quality. We could tell that a lot of care went into making each bowl. Everyone in our family loved their meal.

What really made our experience special was Mr. Bruno's friendliness. He wasn't just a great host; he also gave us fantastic recommendations for sightseeing in Montreux. He shared his local knowledge and helped us plan our trip.

The experience overall was very mid! Or poor, first the atmosphere of the place is pretty basic some white walls with chairs nothing special. The service, it took them more than an hour to bring us our food, the owner literally throws us a package of peanuts "for the waiting" like if we are on a airplane, after that long waiting they bring our food which was very mid at best, nothing out of this world, very plain food, I don't understand why they took so long to bring it. I live in montreux and definitely not worth the time and money.
