Me, my daughter and my husband went to this restaurant twice. first time wasn’t as bad but the service was quite slow and staff was rude but the food was great. The second time we went was honestly just a disaster. It was my daughters birthday and we ordered one steak for my daughter, one for my husband and some seafood for myself. The food was great but the service was so bad. We waited 1 hour 30 mins just for simple meal. U don’t even need to cook steak on the stone? It’s very easy. The staff was so rude and avoided tables just so they didn’t have to deal with customers. They were so much nicer to people who speak French and very rude to tourists who speak English. I looked at other tables and they were getting treated much better. I asked one lady “we have been waiting for over an hour, do u know where’s our food?” And all she said was “yes” it was also my daughters birthday and I secretly asked THREE times to bring a little cake for my daughter and they FINALLY brought it out after so long & I asked another girl for ice and she still never brought it. Usually we only take 45 mins max to eat and order but we were there for almost three hours. We couldn’t wait to leave & we’re afraid to even order anything else cause it would take so long. food is super nice but staff is so so rude. I wouldn’t recommend. Even tho the food was great honestly wasn’t worth the wait and...
Read moreFirst of all we would just like to thank the amazing lady who was working during our stay. I am so upset I can’t remember her name (22 - 25 November) she was incredible. ||The room itself was small and dated but our soul purpose was to visit the Christmas market where and the location was perfect - straight across the road.||It was comfortable enough and we weren’t spending much time in the room so we weren’t too phased but if you were staying for longer than 2 nights it’s probably not ideal with not much space around beds or for your luggage.||The walk from the train station is a challenge if you don’t locate the lift (we made this mistake) there are a lot of stairs to get down to the Main Street - then a slight hill to the accomodation itself.||Supermarket is closed on Sundays sadly and food is crazy expensive (but we are also Aussies and our exchange rate to CHF is awful currently!) so make sure you bring water and snacks if travelling over a weekend. ||We had the breakfast both mornings because it was convenient, not really value for money but super convenient and had everything we needed to leave with full tummies for the day. ||Again, the beautiful receptionist is what makes this review a 4 star. I would almost give it 5 stars but I feel that would give other travellers an unrealistic expectation...
Read moredecent pizza, but the service makes you want to leave
It’s wild how service can completely change the feel of a place. Walked in 20 minutes before the kitchen closed—which, fair, I get that restaurants need to wrap up—but from the second I stepped in, the attitude was off. Instead of a welcoming greeting, got a weird look and an unnecessary comment about choosing a table for four. Like, where’s the accommodating hospitality spirit?
That said, credit where credit is due—the pizzas are good, but not as legendary as hyped. A little too greasy, and the seafood pizza had shell bits inside even after removing the shells. I get that it’s supposed to retain the juice, but come on—finding tiny shell fragments in your bite is straight-up dangerous.
The only reason this isn’t a 2-star review is because of one waiter who stepped in later and actually brought in the kind of hospitality you expect in a place like this. If that was the standard from the start, this would have been a completely different experience. But the energy of a place matters, and this one just wasn’t it.
Would I come back? Honestly, no. The atmosphere was too tense to actually enjoy the meal. You can serve great food, but if you make people feel like they need to rush through their meal and leave, that completely overshadows...
