Dining at Amaru in St. Moritz was nothing short of magical. From the moment we walked into the beautifully designed space, we felt transported. The restaurantās eclectic interiors, with their bold colors and patterns, perfectly captured a mix of vibrant Peruvian culture and the elegance of the Swiss Alps. The setting alone is worth a visitāLuke Edward Hallās artistry truly creates a feast for the eyes.
But what truly sets Amaru apart is the food. Every dish felt like a story, masterfully told by Chef Claudia Canessa. Her passion for Peruvian flavors shines through in each bite. The fusion of traditional ingredients with modern techniques made the experience unforgettable. I tried the ceviche, which was so fresh and bursting with citrusy flavors, and the lomo saltado was cooked to perfection, with a smoky richness Iāll be dreaming about for weeks. Even the cocktails were a revelationābold, colorful, and expertly crafted to match the vibrant dishes.
What made the evening even more special was the impeccable service. Ruben Scorza and his staff were warm, attentive, and clearly proud of what they were presenting. They were happy to explain the origins of the dishes and even shared some insights into Chef Canessaās vision, which made the experience feel deeply personal.
Amaru isnāt just a restaurantāitās a journey. Whether youāre a lover of Peruvian cuisine or just someone seeking an extraordinary dining experience, this place will leave you in awe. Itās easily one of the highlights of St. Moritz, and I canāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read more1 August 2025 - We just were at Amaru restaurant in Kulm hotel. We were exited to have a nice special experience for our National Day. The experience ended very quickly. Such a disappointed that we even ended up having dinner there.
We had to wait around 15 min to get the menu - in the meantime a much better table got free, but also if we were the last serve and the restaurant was not running at full capacity, the manager refused to move us from the table in front of the entrance to a nice more cosy window table. She was probably distracted by a table she was caring more (as even when I asked to speak with her, she still needed to bring a mineral water to them).
Zero service attitude and much worse zero empathy ⦠she even wanted to force me to discuss the issue in front of my girlfriend, visiting for the first time St. Summer ⦠St. Moritz. It was awkward, uncomfortable, and frankly, unprofessional.
Thanks to Linus from the reception we ended up having dinner in the pizzeria ⦠pizzeria should get 15 point, Amaru should rethink their attitude. Iām sure tomorrow I will have the chance to discuss it with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreš I had a very good dinner at Amaru and can recommend it to everyone. Obviously it comes at a relatively high price but they offer great quality food and good service making it worth a visit.
š“ We ordered mostly to share and all had a very good taste, a little spicy. Portions were definitely small-ish as in all fine dining places: the idea is to order more and share rather than order one plate to get full. All on the menu has Peruvian roots with a nice modern adaptation applied.
š The restaurant can be found within the 5-star hotel Kulm. I must admit that finding the restaurant within Kulm took us a few minutes: this should be facilitated for guests in my opinion. In terms of decor, Amaru is very elegant and gives a comfort feeling.
āš¼ As Peruvian restaurant, don't forget to order a Pisco sour: they make a very...
