There are restaurants, and then there is Umami Taste – a place where food goes beyond boundaries and becomes an experience. From the very first bite of the beef tartare we knew we had discovered something special; we looked at each other and without saying a word knew it was the best we had ever tasted. The ravioli with fondue cheese and peach took us to another dimension of flavor, a sweet-and-savory combination that is almost impossible to put into words. The main courses – pulled pork sandwich and ramen – were true masterpieces. The juiciness of the meat, the richness of the broth, the fact that they make their own miso soup and cook the pork sous vide for 48 hours – all of it speaks of passion and love for gastronomy. The portions are generous, and every bite tells a story. And just when we thought it was all over, the cheesecake arrived – decorated like a piece of art, melting in the mouth and rounding off the perfect experience. What sets this place apart is not only the food, but the people. The staff, with their genuine smiles and warm presence, make you feel like you’re dining at dear friends’ home. In such a relaxed atmosphere, we enjoyed dishes worthy of a Michelin star. Umami Taste is a restaurant we would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who wants to experience what true love for food really means.

This really is amazing. The food just as delicious as it is pretty. We were a group of 5 that went for lunch and we all ordered the burrata for starters and in complete awe when they arrived. They were beautifully created and presented and mouthwatering delicious. All the various tastes and textures complimented each other to perfection. We also all had the homemade ramen in a peanut-chili soup and it was also made to perfection. We had the vegetarian, the pork and the veal and all agreed the food was amazing. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, multilingual, and quick. This is a place to go to pamper yourself, bring your friends, family or just for a healthy and delicious lunch option.

We had a great experience at Umami Taste, we came in because of a celebratory dinner and the food looked great so we decided to give it a try. We were so pleasantly surprised as every dish that came out was a pure work of art. The chef (who is one of the sons in the family of 4 that runs the place) could potentially be a Michelin star holder as his plates were not only beautiful but were flavored with nuanced polish that I have only experienced a few times before. We loved the truffle pasta and the apple pulled pork sandwich, which blew our socks off inducing light, savory, and umami flavors. Highly recommend this family owned place as it is incredibly underrated!

If you're looking here and saying "90 5 star reviews? Must be fake, no way" I can assure you they're 100% all true.

This is hands down the best ramen I have ever had. Everything is flawless and the chili oil is the perfect amount of heat. The broth is so thick and savory, it's like no other broth before. The egg is PERFECT. The veggies are crisp and just the right amount of tang. The noodles are just thick enough and in the perfect quantity. I cannot put to words how much I love the pork....it's beyond compare.

Neno and Sasha are also so kind. It's like your friend inviting you over for dinner and then they serve you the best ramen of your life. I wish I could come more often.

I only had ramen (and beer), but I absolutely trust that the entire menu is flawless. If I lived in St Gallen I would move in above this restaurant. Heck if I lived in Switzerland I would day trip here just for lunch. If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would. Thank you thank...

Besucht: Oktober 2021 Bestellt: Hokaido-KĂŒrbis-Creme-Suppe, Erdnuss-Chili-Ramen, Lava-Cake
