First Impression: Romantic spot, the Puro Cab Sauv wine was great. Went on a Tuesday evening and it was nice and quiet.
Atmosphere: Although there were a lot of beautiful and comforting seating, we were escorted to the corner. I always pay attention to the atmosphere and overall first impression by the restaurant and unfortunately was not up to par based from my restaurant experiences in Zurich so far. However, the waitress was attentive and kind.
Food: Is it bad that the bread and whipped butter was way more delicious than the entree? Maybe because my medium rare was more rare than I’d like it. And the chimichurri (I’m a freak for Argentinian food) is way too peppery (black pepper). The starter salad itself had way too much dressing on it. It’s overpowering especially when it’s raspberry dressing.
Final Comments: I’m just not one to say anything to the cook but hope that this will assist the kitchen menu 😫...

My personal favorite: Parmesan soup All the tatarts! Tagliolini with shrimps Potato gratin - one of the best I ever had in my life!!! 😍 The café de paris is good, but there are other places in Zurich that offers better quality meat and a flavorful ”sauce” I was very disappointed about the chimichurri, didn’t taste fresh and somehow lacked in taste maybe salt was missing - over didn’t like their chimichurri - please get someone else to make this, it shouldn’t be that hard.
The service is tricky to rate, as it‘s never consistent. Once the were extremely slow and had the impression they forgot us, another time they were very prompt and attentive and then average.
My personal rating out of 5 stars: Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chimichurri: ⭐️ Café de Paris: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Parmesan soup: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ All Tatar‘s: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tagliolini:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wine and...
Read morePerfect from A to Z! I love a sincere welcome, even when you’ve never been in the restaurant before, Baerengasse treats you like a member of an elite club, I saw the Maitre D’ do this earnestly with every customer and this my dear reader is the mark of great management, a promise that good things beckon.
Here they hit all the marks, I appreciated piping hot soup, a fantastic CHF 32 lunch menu with a sublime pea soup followed by a textbook weiner schnitzel that would stand toe to toe with any escalope milanese an italian chef could rustle up. My guest had a watercress soup followed by beef tartare. (See Picture) The dessert was unbelievably simple but stands as one of the greats, an extraordinary dark cherry compote, with a perfect balance of sweet and sour topped by a scoop of sour cream ice cream, divine, sublime, unctuous,...
