Milchbar — Restaurant in Zurich

We read the reviews before dinning in this place, everyone was glorifying how amazing this place is. My experience wasn't the same. The place is very nice, especially the outdoor seating, however we sat inside, because it was a little windy that day, and we didn't get any attention for the service.

The waiters and waitress didn't bother coming inside to take our order, which made us rethinking the level of service. I stood up myself and went to the chef asking if I can order, he informed me I have to wait until someone takes our order. Simply I should wait!

Eventually 15 minutes later, we managed to have someone taking our order. We ordered a plate of cheese, and a flammekuche. After 20-25 minutes of waiting, we received the wrong order for the cheese plate. They had to take it back to kitchen and prepare a new one.

The waitress (a young lady) didn't present a friendly gesture throughout the service, and when we asked for the bill, she just disappeared for a while. We had to go again to the front desk and demand the bill to pay. We just want to pay and leave.

I would rate the service 2 out of 5. The food taste is 4 out of 5. Value for money 3 out of 5. Ambience...

I visited Milchbar Zurich twice, and both times the service was unacceptable. During my first lunch visit, the server was rude and unhelpful, barely speaking and just pointing at the menu.

On my second visit around 11:30 AM, the place was nearly empty, but I was told all tables were reserved and directed to a side area that smelled bad. Strangely, other guests without reservations were seated at better tables, which felt discriminatory. My table was dirty, and no one bothered to clean it.

Despite clearly asking three times for my coffee to come first, everything was served together. The food was below average, though the coffee was decent.

I frequently eat lunch here as I work very nearby. Today, I had the worst customer service experience. I was very nicely seated by the host (yes, I went to the host to ask for a seat) and then a server rudely demanded to know if I had a reservation and why I was sitting at the table. Then the server waited to bring me a menu, and then he ignored me for almost 15 minutes. I finally left when he came to ask me if I wanted to order anything. Are you kidding me??
