Very very low profile waitresses, place for teenagers and cheap drinks 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. Thursday night, we come into TAO’s, I ask the waitress about the tables. She tells me all are reserved. I tell her that I want to take the champagne bottle suddenly she tells me that tables are free, but depends on what I take. I ask her a minimum consumption and she tells me “magnum” 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ Like how useless you are to tell this to the customer? I love Dom perignon, and you must be truly not thinking to not know that some of your bottles are more expensive than your magnums. We were 2 people, and had no issue to take Cristal or the luminous bottle, but I am not taking a magnum bottle for 2. Waitress told me “I also need to earn”. I thought it’s very funny as I wouldn’t expect it’s her club, I thought the owner needs to earn :)))).
After came reservations, partying many years in zurich VIP’s it’s very very naive from the waitress to think that we wouldn’t know each other :))). Nobody reserved. Not a single table magnum. Consuming way cheaper champagne, not a single table took even 2 Dom perignons, some tables sit with only vodka bottles.
If I was the manager, this waitress would fly very very far away from the job tomorrow. I’ll make sure to tell everybody this story and make fun about the taos “take the magnum for 2”. She lost around 1-2k for the club yesterday and there’s no way that I would ever take a table or recommend it to anyone else ever.
I hope the waitress earned that night :)) the owner...

Read moreThanks to navigation, we easily found our destination today Tao's. We received a very friendly welcome and were escorted to our table. We started with a Patron Silver Margarita with Mango, which was served in an original way and was very delicious. For starters, we had the Grilled Octopus and Wagyu Gyoza. The octopus was excellently prepared and seasoned. The Crispy Duck Salad surprised us in two ways - it was a very generous portion and beautifully presented. Highly recommended. For our main course, we chose the US Black Pepper Beef and the US Beef Filet. Both dishes were beautifully presented and the quality of the filet was absolutely perfect - it almost melted in our mouths. The Fried Rice was a bit oily, but the creamy coconut spinach was top-notch in terms of color, consistency, and flavor. We enjoyed a bottle of Californian Cabernet Sauvignon and mineral water with our dinner. Unfortunately, we couldn't handle any dessert as we were completely full. Two espressos concluded the delicious meal.
Conclusion: Tao's is a very nice location with attentive and polite staff, although the club music can be a bit distracting for the overall atmosphere. The culinary experience is convincing in every aspect. However, the price-performance ratio is a bit of a stretch, even by Zurich standards. Paying CHF 400 without gratuity for two people for a three-course menu with wine, excluding dessert, is...
