I was really excited reading the reviews of La Cucina. My husband and I went there last night around 8pm to try it out. The weather was very nice so most people sat outside. We opted to sit inside. The service was slow beyond reason. The place seemed adequately staffed but just to get our drinks of one Chardonnay and one Rivella was like 25 mins. We waited an eternity for them to bring the bread, which never came. My husband went up to the front and asked for some bread which he brought back to our table himself. The Italiano pizza was pretty average, nowhere near the quality I had expected from other user comments. The fish filet cooked in "the box" I got was good but too salty. The vegetables on the side was delicious though, which was the highlight of the meal. I asked the waiter for water half way through the meal since he fish was so salty. It never came either. However, when we received the bill, I noticed that the water was added to the bill. My husband went to tell him that we never got the water and the waiter argued that it was brought to us. After some debate, he asked the girl who supposedly brought us the water and she said that she brought it to a table outside. The food is not bad at La Cucina but the service was just awful. We are disappointed and surely will not return to La Cucina. Santa Lucia nearby has much better pizza...
Read moreVisited that place together with mx fiance and another couple. The overall experience is okay-good.
Reservation: Tried to do it by phone. Unfortunately I was unable to understand the person on the other end as they must have had some sort of technical difficulties and the transmission was interrupted intermittendly. Eventually I was able to book the table through the internet. Location: Good location, interior is ok. Initially we got seated next to one of their additional entrances where it was rather fresh due to the winter season. Asked for another table which we got immediately. Personell: OK, as the place got busies you felt that they got more and more distracted of taking proper care but overall ok. Food: delicous Pizzas (and in the end thats what we came from, isnt it?) Price: Rather pricy for what you eventually get in the overall experience. However comparable to similar location in Zurich.
Would I return? Probably, its a decent place in the upper...
Read moreGreat customer service. We were given complimentary bruschetta upon arrival, given complimentary grappa upon leaving and the owner even gave us an umbrella as it started to rain as we were leaving. He didn’t know us from a bar of soap but treated us like family.
As for the food. It was delicious. Beautiful thin crust wood fired pizza and great carbonara 👌👌
The prices are reasonable considering how expensive everything in Switzerland is and you don’t mind paying more when you are treated like royalty and have great customer service.
