My partner and I waited ten minutes in an empty restaurant as one staff member fiddled with their computer while the other swept the floor.

No welcome, no acknowledgement that they had customers in their restaurant.

My partner asked the individual behind the counter if they were serving food, to which she was immediately told "Can't you see we're having problems? Leave if you can't wait". This attitude continued for several more minutes until we left.

I understand that restaurants face technical problems. We would have been happy to leave if they simply told us of the situation and advised that we could not eat there that evening, but the attitude was absolutely horrendous.

You are in the hospitality industry. We were polite, you were not.
