Disgusting rude behavior, rude rude rude
Should be zero. After nearly seven years in Taiwan, I’ve never experienced anything as humiliating and disappointing as what happened today. Walking through the old street, I stopped at this restaurant, drawn by the banana bread they were selling. What unfolded next was not only shocking but completely unacceptable.
The woman working there displayed the rudest, most unprofessional behavior I’ve ever encountered. My friend and I decided to get takeaway instead of dining in to enjoy the nice weather. While purchasing two pieces of cake, I went to use the restroom—and that’s when the staff member started shouting at me, loudly and aggressively, in front of the entire restaurant and her coworkers.
Her behavior was not only embarrassing but an outrageous example of poor customer service. Denying a paying customer the basic courtesy of using the bathroom is unacceptable in any business. To make matters worse, she continued yelling as I tried to explain that I had just bought something, showing no intention of listening or handling the situation with any respect or professionalism.
I felt utterly humiliated and appalled by this treatment. As a manager in HR, I can confidently say that if I witnessed such behavior in my team, immediate action would be taken. This kind of behavior sets a terrible example for the team and leaves customers with an unforgettable negative impression.
While the banana bread was lovely (the lemon cake, not so much), the shocking lack of respect and basic courtesy overshadowed everything. This business should seriously reflect on how such behavior damages not only their reputation but also their relationship with customers.
I won’t be returning, and I urge this establishment to rethink how they treat people if they want to remain in business. Good customer service should never include embarrassing and alienating the very people supporting your livelihood.
All this because I wanted to use the bathroom, bathroom must be a five star bathroom to deny someone using it even after the were a customer.

Read moreBest coffee and french toast. Full stop. Completely unexpectedly wonderful experience. We loved the vibe from the wooden bench the music and decor. We tried one hot coffee and one cold. The hot coffee with burned sugar topping is easily the best coffee we tried in Taipei. The lemonade ice coffee is exceptional and never had it so good. The lemonade is homemade and the wonderful flavour is hard to explain. All was already wonderful until we met the French toast which is the best crime committed. The fresh and soft taste of the toast and dripping cream and fruit jam mixed with the warmth of the toast meant a very happy tourist all the way from New Zealand. We...
Read moreYou might almost walk past this shop but for me, I’m just glad I went inside. 五方食藏 has the best French toast I’ve had. It almost feels like a soufflé pancake and yet the pairing with berries and cream is phenomenal. Also ordered coffee and strawberry shortcake which were both splendid. If you like the lightness and tenderness of Japanese pastries, this is a...
