I was walking around the street when I noticed this restaurant. I didn’t realize that this was a vegan restaurant when I went in.
I didn’t see any meat options on the menu so I asked the server. Obviously he said that this was a vegan restaurant but at the end he added a very inappropriate comment.
To be specific the server said, “There are no meat options, but I’d like to get a look at your meat.”
I was very disturbed by this comment, but I didn’t say anything as not to be disrespectful. I told him I would keep looking at the menu.
As he walked away, he looked back at me with a very seductive look. I immediately walked out the moment I could. I was very grossed out and will never go to a vegan restaurant again.
I have tried two vegan restaurants and this has happened twice at both restaurants now. I believe that all vegan restaurants...
Read moreThe restaurant is conveniently located in the mall attached to Taipei Main Bus Terminal. This was my second visit and I was just as disappointed in the food. We had the set holiday menu. The tomato soup was more like a Minestrone without the pasta or a Borscht soup that wasn't sour. The Satay chicken and the Korean style chicken were a little underwhelming. The flavors of the food was bland and the textures just okay. The appetizers were better reheated once the flavors had set in and were made a little more crispy. The burger buns were a weird texture that was difficult to eat. The outside was stretchy and chewy. The burger was supposed to be a Beyond burger but it was not properly prepared. It needed to be grilled more. I'll give them an A for presentation and service but the food is not worth...

I also think this is quite an interesting offering for Taipei - Taiwanese flavours in more Western dishes like pasta and burgers, all vegan and done exceptionally well. You’ll find things like ragu with komquat, or spaghetti with fermented tofu, which I haven’t seen on any menu before. The flavours pop, and while the pasta is not quite al dente, it is well made.
Don’t get me wrong, the prices are high with a main at an average of $350, but here I really think it’s worth it. It’s one of a kind, big portions, friendly staff, and an elegant, well-thought decor. Also - please save room for dessert! If you like chocolate the raw chocolate pie is rich and indulgent, and if you’re into almond I whole-heartedly recommend the pana cotta, which comes with a syrupy sweet almond...
