How on earth did I completely miss this absolute gem?! O M G, this is easily one of the top-tier beef noodles I’ve ever had in Taipei! I’m obsessed with their clear soup and how they nail the different beef cuts like the loin and tongue. They’re soft, tender, and just the right amount of chew—super satisfying.

Aaaannndd the real star is… the beef curry noodle! 😍🐄🌶️ This OG shop really knows what’s up! The 大辣 (very spicy) is no joke—packs a punch but still calms you down with those tender beef bites. If feeling up for clear broth beef noodles, this is a decent place to try, as it touts itself to be more than a century old. The 半筋半腩 had good beef-flavored meat, and the trim of the 腩 was neat and not overly fatty, and the 筋 was well textured, with decent broth but disappointing noodles from a box for the price (230). The 清燉牛肉麵 seemed to have the exact same soup and noodles, and the beef was fine (180). Don't come here if craving a spicy version. One surprising aspect was their wok-hay that showed even on a simple stir fry vegetables (70), which was paltry in its portion size but...

This was one of my favorite restaurants in Taiwan. We ordered here for family events growing up, my grandfather took my mother here when she was a child. I took my kids here when they were little.

Never again. Placed my order, brought it home, realized it was not what I placed. They told me I (or rather my native Taiwanese mother) ordered wrong. They won’t refund, won’t exchange and next time, I should fill out the form instead of ordering so the order doesn’t get screwed...
