Grazie — Restaurant in Hsinchu

The food is good, some dessert is okay, the cream brulee is the worst cream brulee have been served in the restaurant is more a jelly egg pudding to me it must be a texture of creamy cream custard and had a bubble on the custard without that burnt sugar on top your not gonna eat it. The chocolate cake is for free or a gift since it's my birthday this coming April 22nd that is 2 days from now. The lunch meal is quite affordable with 4 appetizer, the appetizer is delicious as well the main dish. The steak I expect is not that good since I am craving for red meat for Easter Sunday of honoring the life of Jesus by not eating meat in the Holy Week. The drinks is extra plus to end the meal. The service is like a force they serve the appetizer and soup together are filling on the table. And you have to eat fast the soup or other appetizer you will not wanted to eat cold. We tell the waitress take a bit slow that they gonna serve the mean dish soon. The atmosphere is noisy today. But not surprising for me this is not the first time we dined here. So the service the atmosphere reduce the point. The plates are dirty and have not wipe the sides of the plates before serving, you cant see it through pictures. The plates have scratch from pots or pans in the kitchen is like you put the food then the garnish that is! it doesn't matter it looks clean or not, the Head Chef doesnt care the cleanliness of each plates. Just advice the management just keep the same service in the Cafe Grazie in Far Eastern Department store. There is more relax the service is not they serving all the food at once. Terrible service bordering on rude. We had four people, two ordered pizza, one ordered mushroom risotto, and one ordered steak. The two pizzas came 10 minutes apart. And then the risotto came 15 minutes after the second pizza. The three people with food finished eating and we still hadn’t been served the fourth entrée— the steak. We had to track down a server and ask her where our fourth entrée was. She came back five minutes later with no apology and set the steak on the table. It was bad enough that all four entrees came out at markedly different times but then to have to ask for the last entree and not even receive a cursory apology was surprising. Fried fish—4 star. Light, airy, crispy, with good wasabi sauce. One critique: too little fish in each piece. I ate more fried batter than fish.

Angus beef pizza: 3 star. Not flavorful. Good portion beef, but there is no sauce with very little cheese.

Beef pasta: 3 star, soaking in sauce, wilted garnishes. Sauce taste like its out of the can.

Potato au gratin 5star. Raw egg inside was a pleasant surprise. Boyfriend is western, thinks it tastes just like home.

Service: Servers do okay job. Did not seem to care very much they took a while to get our order, probably because we came at the final hour.

Atmosphere: top notch....
