渣男 Taiwan Bistro 敦北三渣 — Restaurant in Songshan District

Friends and I were on the way the whiskey bar around the corner and saw Taiwan Bistro and for some reason, craved braised dishes so we opted for Taiwan Bistro.

It was a veeery cold Sunday evening so the place was very quiet. The bartenders greeted us and said that we could sit anywhere. We opted for a seat farther inside because we were afraid a breeze would come through the door.

The menu for food was pretty straight forward and there's English for those needing the translation. Nonetheless, the drink menu wasn't very detailed. This actually played in our favor because whiskey was labeled only as "Whiskey" and had a price tag of 180NT. We were surprised to learn that any whiskey on the shelf was 180NT. It seemed like they were all in the 12 year Glenfiddich range, which really isn't that bad of a deal. We also ordered the shared braised dish platter and nobody had anything bad to say about it.

All in all, Taiwan Bistro is stowed away in a small alley, so it can be a chill place to hang out on the weekends, but I bet on a weekday evening, this place gets packed with 9-5ers since there's lots and lots of office buildings on Nanjing.

pretty good late night food place with wide variety of drinks and taiwanese marinated dishes. i liked the tripe/meat the most. the cucumber, udon, and tofu were average, not sure why others are raving about it. they do have a one drink minimum per person. the service can be better, i had to look for them to pay my bill, very inattentive. expect to pay around $500-750 per person. drinks can add up quickly. overall would recommend for this area at night since there aren't that...
