I visited this restaurant on a Friday night at 6 pm. For $2000, it offers a 16-course omakase, which seemed like a decent price, but the experience fell short of expectations.
The restaurant serves two rounds, with the first round running only from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. This made the entire dining experience feel extremely rushed. I've never felt this hurried at an omakase before. Courses were served one after another, often before we had finished the previous one. Additionally, the main chef wasn’t very communicative. Neither he nor his assistants introduced the courses, showing a lack of passion for the food they presented. In my past omakase experiences, chefs would usually engage in some chit-chat with the diners to lighten the atmosphere and provide details about the restaurant and their ingredients.
Surprisingly, no napkins were provided, despite some courses needing to be eaten by hand. More importantly, I found shells in my food twice out of the 16 courses, which was extremely unprofessional. Lastly, when we finished our meal, instead of asking about our overall experience, the chef only inquired whether we were full or not. This entire experience really deviated from what I expect from a...
Read moreI had high expectations for this restaurant due to its glowing reviews, but unfortunately, it turned out to be quite a disappointment. I arrived a little early, only to find the front door light switched off and the gate half-closed, which gave me the impression that customers weren’t particularly welcome.
Although the waiter did arrive on time, he seemed indifferent, as if it didn’t matter that guests had to wait outside in the dark. I was the first to enter the restaurant, yet the chef merely glanced at me without so much as a word of welcome. Was arriving on time somehow inconvenient for them?
The food itself was average at best. To make matters worse, in the middle of service, the chef disappeared from the chef’s table for about 5-10 minutes, leaving me feeling neglected and awkward. Having experienced omakase in various countries, including Taipei, I can confidently say this was the most disappointing atmosphere I’ve encountered.
If you’re only looking for basic food without the essence of an authentic omakase experience, this place might suit your needs. However, if you’re seeking quality service and ambiance, I wouldn’t...
Read moreI had high expectations for this place, but upon visiting, I am very surprised that some people had their best Omakase experience here. We went there for lunch 2000nt option. Of all the omakase places I’ve been to, usually there is a mixed sashimi dish that is presented really well, but over here there were only 2 fish sashimi. The nigiri was also not impressive. The cuts we got were veiny and hard to chew. The cooked fish we got had bones in it. Mine had big bones so it’s easier to eat around, but my partner’s piece had lots of small bones. I’ve never been to an Omakase place there there’s bones. Thought the quality would be a lot better, but honestly, it was very underwhelming. Don’t think I can compare this with other omakase restaurants, the quality is more like a cheap izakaya place. Not sure if this is the standard others experienced or if it’s chef not having a good day, but either way the quality should...
