Great food, and even better service.
When I heard Jensen Huang ate at this place in Taiwan, I knew I had to get in and try their dishes here. Imagine being able to dine in where the legendary NVIDIA CEO dines would be a bliss.
I tried calling ahead to see if I can book a reservation but the guy on the other line doesn't speak any bit of English. So, we still went for it as a gamble. Reaching the place, you have to write down your name to queue. Thankfully, we managed to get a table in about 30 minutes - yes, there was a long queue on this Friday night.
We ordered tofu soup, Xiao long bao, siomai, and 2 sides composed of pickled cucumbers and bamboo shoots and taro coconut for dessert.
The staff, even though never spoke a word of English, were courteous, fast and efficient. As we finish a dish, one immediately, gets served piping hot. Everything was great except for the sides which were overrated and overpriced in our opinion. The taro coconut is just mid. But the mains were all great and delicious.
For dippings, there's a wide range of sauces to choose from or mix and match on your own. Free flowing hot tea is also available and served on your own.
Checkout was also a breeze.

Read moreHad dinner at 犂園湯包館, and while the 蝦仁炒飯 was delicious and the prices were reasonable, the overall experience was disappointing due to the poor service.
We had a reservation for three at 7:00 PM and arrived at 7:10 PM. One of our friends hadn’t arrived yet, but we told the staff we were ready to order first. Despite that, they told us the restaurant was full. Eventually, they seated us at a table for two, and later switched us to a table for three.
Throughout the meal, the staff were quite rude and pushy, rushing us to place our order and making the dining experience feel uncomfortable.
While the food is decent, I personally wouldn’t line up for this place again. There are plenty of other restaurants with better service and...
Read moreI was anxious to try this place as an alternative to Din Tai Fung and Tim Ho Wan. Several friends also recommended it. I went with a group of friends so that we could try a variety of dishes. The staff were very friendly and helpful and service was good. Several of the dishes were good, but nothing special. Two dishes were mediocre at best - - the beef pie (pastry shell was much too thick and chewy) and the beef steamed dumpling (dough was too thick and the filling was bland). The fermented bean curd water spinach, however, was excellent. While I wouldn't object to going here again, it would not be my first...
