To sum up, I’ve come here to eat or celebrate for a few times with my grandparents who really love the foods here but last time was before the pandemic because buffet restaurants were mostly closed at that time. I mostly went to the SKM A11 branch but it is under renovation now. However, of course the prices are quite high since it’s a buffet restaurant and it’s mostly full if you don’t reserve in advance. You might still need to queue even if you have a reservation because most people did the same thing as well. Despite all of that, it’s definitely worth it and I highly recommend Japanese food lovers to come at least once. Moreover, there are also some Japanese Bentos (the prices are $200 or $250) sold at the counter. Speaking of the transportation, I suggest you walk for about 10 minutes from MRT Taipei Arena or 12 minutes from MRT Nanjing Sanmin. Overall, it’s absolutely a...
Read morecoming here for Christmas dinner was a terrible mistake. i had a feeling things were gonna be bad the moment they just let everyone in free for all without even checking who had reservations. we had to flag someone down to show us where to sit while other people were just randomly choosing seats.
right from the start a massive queue formed for the sashimi. i know taiwanese people love to line up, but this was such a ridiculously long line that it stretched to the dining tables. there were lines almost as long for the fried/grilled food station, too. it’s just not a good feeling when you go to a buffet and immediately you’re surrounded by long lines. they need to either reduce the number of diners they let in at a single time or prepare the food more efficiently. the only station that didn’t have a line was the chinese food (stuff like fried rice and chow menu lol).
apparently after the first wave, they already ran out of some of the more desirable sashimi (not sure which fish it was). my mom only managed to snag two servings for us on the first round, so there was definitely a lot of grumbling going on from diners who were understandably frustrated that the restaurant would run out of food within the first hour. not long after, the grilled station was empty, too, and everyone was scrambling to pile up on the shrimp tempura. it was just an all-around awful environment for a dinner, christmas or not.
the coup de grace was when i nearly pierced the roof of my mouth chewing on a piece of sashimi. i neglected to take a picture because i didn’t want to cause a ruckus on christmas of all days, but it was a pretty damn long bone, a little over the length of my fingertip. that is, as taiwanese people say, 很不OK.
the food itself is mediocre at best. it’s not the worst, but you could easily find better food pretty much anywhere else. anyways thanks 新葉 for ruining christmas dinner
edit: my mom threw up three times and i got diarrhea lmao what a...
Read moreTerrible experience ! First of all, when I went to the restaurant I booked seats online and already paid online and yet you still are required to make a line !
I was not the only one surprised that even if you already paid you have to wait in line. If this is the restaurant’s rule you MUST write it down on the website !!! Management should care about this part. If I booked and already paid online I expect to arrive and seat right away.
In terms of food, all of the food was cold and the taste was very mediocre, it felt as though the food was worth less than $500 NTD.
The service was also a super BIG downside. The old lady cutting the beef and pork was so annoyed and spreading very bad vibes to everyone. If this restaurant wants to stand by it’s prices then you should make your employees provide that same level of service.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone that would not like to have a hard...
