珈琲院 — Restaurant in Taichung

It's been a long time waiting in my pocket list. The entrance is along the main drive way which is not exactly like it is on map in the alley. There are some parking spaces under the trees, and also a chain system parking lot in walking distance. Inside is warm and cozy, even in summer time, I believe it would be chill because some trees the right outside. There are many coffee tools and equipments for almost every way of home and personal brewing, of course also many coffee is ready beans. We just had our lunch so we only ask for black coffee and red tea. Since I also roast coffee myself, so i didn't look up the manual. I just discuss with the barista of what I prefer and what he has that is on a good timing to brew. He gave me a medium level of roast from Kenya. A little heavy body, and come a bit of acid and sweet at the end, and aftertaste comes back very soft and tender, just like the way of barista talk, and matches his gentle and easy cooperating to visitors request or doubt from choices. Since we have discuss about coffee bean region, and different roaster machines, he offer us another cup from Indonesia. The way of bean roasted that showed in the body as a major flavor, stable and mature, mild, little bit of herb as the specialty of Indo bean, also comes little bit more acid than last, also along flower but can't tell. The room is not big but very soft and warm. A low coach along with the big glass, I would like to have a cake and just chill out whole morning next time, that feels like chill out at grandma's house. I also got the hand brew pot I needs and they also donate some profit to help the organisation of disadvantaged. It's a good place to visit at least 4 times in a year along with different...

慢速烘焙的香醇咖啡 被甜點耽誤的吧台手

「珈琲院」是間老宅咖啡，成立於2005年，這裡曾是美軍高階軍官眷屬宿舍，保留了傳統美式建築風格。

老宅有超大落地窗，前有個小庭園。進入室內座位不多，選擇坐在窗邊位置，可享受日光、欣賞養在庭園裡“超吸睛”約有三層樓高的美人蕉。落地窗採光很好，天花板上的吊燈也很典雅，沙發的座位讓人有種回到家的舒適感。

珈琲院的咖啡，好喝、順口又有溫度，老闆超佛心，單品咖啡續杯一次免費。另外也有做咖啡豆批發、零售，及開店吧台的技術教學。老闆對於咖啡，除了很專業也很熱心，咖啡相關知識問他，都會一一幫你解答，服務很是親切！

老闆湯勝傑有個稱號「湯連長」，這位“過去式”連長，曾經是貨真價實的砲兵營營部連連長呦！和連長閒聊時，他還說了軍中鬼故事給我們聽，真是又怕又想聽！下次再訪應該會有更多故事可以挖！

店裡除了咖啡，另外還有好吃的甜點(戚風蛋糕、瓦夫餅、法國鄉村手作麵包、糕點和餅乾等)，來配好喝的咖啡剛好！隱藏菜單，可直接問老闆或闆娘。闆娘的手作"期間限定"風味牛軋糖，用料實在、口味多元，深得人心！

店內的氣氛跟音樂也都很棒！讓人像在家裡一般自在、放鬆！坐在這裡的環境非常舒適，寧靜又悠閒，可慢慢享受...
